This season reminds me of Hunter X Hunter's ant arc. It's good, but it hardly progresses the story at all.

Made in the abyss just sounds so fascinating and fucked up the more and more I look into it. Genuinely excited to see what happens next even though it’ll take years

I still can't decide if this or To your Eternity is better.

I've had almost a spiritual experience with this second season. Even after all the tears caused by the show, I ended up feeling better than I have in weeks when it finally ended. Irumyuui's story spoke to me so much and somehow she helped me process some feelings I had been having regarding my identity and self worth due to me having a disability and several unrelated health problems that I was diagnosed with at a young age.

Meanwhile i only cried in season 1 and the movie i almost cried in S2 tho

Vueko dying in the way she did absolutely killed me emotionally. I think the viewer deserves some hope at the end of a tragic season, but instead we get an easily avoidable death of a character who faced nothing but suffering in her entire life. Salvation was just within her grasp but one small misstep ruined it all. I genuinely dislike that part

Made in abyss fans explaining why the small children getting molested and mutilated by the glimglomper on level 38 of the backrooms is integral to the central plot and themes of the show.

Everything has value? Holy shit, how realistic.

This arc felt like a step down from the previous arc but it still left a good taste in my mouth.

Maa is what they always were, what everyone in that city was from the moment they stepped foot in it. DEAD. Iruburu was a ghost city of living corpses who could only continue to exist within the city itself. Maa left the city, so they reverted to their natural state. It hurts, I know, maa was a precious bean, but we have to mourn them properly.

The reason that there is literally only one survivor out of all the new characters introduced in this entire season is Wazukyan. He foresaw all of this and intentionally made sure it came to pass. Blame him. He knew about the Curse. He knew they didn't have enough supplies. He knew the water wasn't water. He knew what the Cradle of Desire would do. He knew every single ounce of heartbreak and suffering ahead of time. And most importantly of all, he knew his desired outcome: he knew Faputa would be born, kill everyone, and continue down into the Abyss in their stead.
Faputa is what he talked about. A being beyond human who is the culmination of everyone's experiences and who can freely roam the Abyss. Creating the character who wins the trophy for the most fucked up backstory WAS HIS PLAN ALL ALONG.

I keep watching reviews and reading synopsis of this series because I can't bear to watch it because it feels like some kind torture pron making so many sweet, cute, childlike creatures and characters suffer so much... I would rather talk to someone who knows it than watch it... Ugh want to watch, but don't want to watch it...
