People are shocked finding things that have obviously fossilized fast. Like the "Limestone Cowboy" or an old hat in a flooded mine. Time really plays a minimal part in fossilization it's the conditions. Diamonds are made very fast under very particular conditions along with coal, etc. Yes I know it's fiction but they use science taught in schools as proven fact. When Richard Dawkins or Krause jumps ship on their beliefs about evolution you know there's a problem. Bring it up in school and see what the teacher or professor does.
