If the bivvy isn't keeping you dry it's not very useful. You may want to experiment with a camping hammock such as the Hennessey.
ОтветитьThis style of video is so nice to watch!
ОтветитьI have tried bivi and tarp camping. Hammock and tarp camping, and tent wild camping. You can get some really reasonably priced lightweight tents nowadays, so I don't see the point in bivi and tarp camping for me. I wild camp with a hammock and netting in summer sometime, but any other time I use my tent. My tent weights about 1.4kg and fits on my handlebar or in my rucksack. It's freestanding lightweight and tons more room than a bivi. Why make it more restrictive for myself?
P. S mirco adventures are an amazing way to experience nature without any real costs, and are bloody good fun. Carry on making your vids, I really enjoy them.
You don't have snow in winter ?
ОтветитьIt's so nice to see you trying out new things
ОтветитьThank you i love camping videos! (and hunting, fishing, bycyling, touring....)
ОтветитьPersist with tarp camping if you can, does force you to be aware of your surroundings and making the most of landscape features to shelter from the wind. Best.
ОтветитьBeen a while since my last bike trip. I wanna go 🥲
Ответить2 wheels on a bike for just one person, isn't that a bit of overkill ??🙂. thanks for the video!!
ОтветитьRolling all you bedding in one ,is a Swag, so you are now a Swagman.
ОтветитьWhere are you now. I remember when you was in stokes county nc. You stayed in my friends back yard for the night.
Ответитьmate your wheel underwent mitosis
ОтветитьThat will do
ОтветитьEnjoyed it. Ta.
ОтветитьUnrelated to this but I would love to see a more relaxed video reminiscing about the world tour. I'm sure you have stories that weren't on camera and it would be nice to revisit the experience now. Maybe a 5 year anniversary livestream with Will?
ОтветитьNice one Ed :)
I do a good bit of wild camping all year round. So in winter it's dark not long after 4pm. By the time you've cooked and eaten, you must have gone to "bed" before 6pm. It was light when you got up so it must've been nearly 8am. That's a looooong night if you're not comfortable. I find the biggest problem with winter camps is using up all those dark hours. Really enjoyed the video, thanks :)
Great vid ed as always
ОтветитьLoved the video, the whole shebang, and what a meal for one nighter!
ОтветитьKetchup on sausages ? Just say no !
ОтветитьI just do regular camping.I'm not qualified or licensed for anything "wild".
ОтветитьСалам алейкум, Едди, Айсулуу 📍❓ желаю вам удачи! 🤲✊👍
ОтветитьI had to live like that when I was homeless. It's wasn't fun. It was terrible. Wild camping is only fun when you have a home to go back to 😞
ОтветитьI like your videos
Ответить不拍蛇吗?
ОтветитьLove your videos Ed!
ОтветитьHello apparently I've won a prize? Not sure how to contact you via WhatsApp. Perhaps it's a scam. Bob
ОтветитьI pitched my tent in November in Southern Ontario. Grass surrounded the tent in the evening. In the middle of the night, I woke to my tent surrounded by snow. It was a great experience, once for that was enough.
ОтветитьAlthough I don't know the particular spec of the wheels, considering they happily carried two of you plus luggage I imagine they are severely over built for just you on your own and excessively heavy, I'd really consider if you can swap or sell them (or just get the rear re built as it's a £££ hub). Regarding bivy setup. I bought all the kit thinking it would be a great way of moving lightly and after a mere 2 nights of suffering I bought a light weight tent. When you add everything together the bivy kit is no lighter that a reasonable quality tent and tents are so much more comfortable.
ОтветитьWhen I saw the frying pan I was then waiting for the tureen of soup!
ОтветитьYes, your video was very entertaining!
Ответитьwhat a miserable weather/place to go camping...I guess its a good practice for when you dont have a choice
ОтветитьI thought tarp camping was supposed to be a lightweight option. Ed seems to have a load of gear for an overnighter.
ОтветитьTbh for most british conditions and bivi isn’t worth it as you can have a tent for similar weight and pack size
ОтветитьLived in burnham on sea for 30 years, here in Brisbane Australia last 33 years, loved your river parrot ride, and your adventures. Mike Australia
ОтветитьJust stretch that basha out wider,we used to use the Australian basha it was massive.
ОтветитьLove your content and you are a good story-teller. I favour tarp camping as its does offer more flexibility than a tent. I own a DD Jungle hammock which comes with a detachable bug net an canopy, which means I can use it as a hammock or where there are no trees, on the ground or as a bivvy. My suggestion is you need a bigger tarp, say a 3x3, which would give you much greater coverage for you and your gear, and would give you scope to set up in different ways. All said, I think you are on the right track. Look forward to more content.
Ответитьthis man definitely doesn't watch enough horror movies
ОтветитьDo you still use bivvy for wild camping?
ОтветитьNice outdoor there! I think I've seen a hole on your top! Well, I'm going on bicycle camp, always having the pop up one person tent tied to my big backpack. The electric bike handles better the weight 😉, especially for long distance and mostly uphill. Keep it going! Cheers!
ОтветитьSometimes we just need to get out and do it! Thanks Ed 👍
ОтветитьGreat video, i always get a cramp in my foot when trying to put my boots back on, next morning lol. worst part is packing up next morning. the rest of the trip is amazing during bicycle tours.
ОтветитьProper campsite outdoor cooked sausages should be burnt on the outside and raw in the middle.
ОтветитьFor a one nighter, I’d have had my camp spot planned. Prepped my food before leaving the house and done my first bivvy camp in summer. Seems you just needed to get a yt vid out? Hope you enjoyed. Thanks.
ОтветитьI love how you repurposed the tandem. May you have many new adventures ahead! ❤
