Recovering my daughter's files now... I thought I had moved and deleted her images and videos from my phone, but I somehow had two of the same folder open, so when I deleted one, the other VANISHED! Suffice to say, I now have history ENABLED! I'll update if everything gets recovered through Disk Drill!

Edit: Oh no... Because there were videos it recovered, the file-size surpassed the 500MB free version, so the files are being held hostage behind a $90 pay-wall... :'( I was let go from my job half-way through my paternity leave, so I can't afford to restore them right now! Looking for an alternative in the mean-time, there's gotta be another way...
Edit 2: Okay, if you're in that pickle like me, there's TestDisk. I understand it's only business, but this will work in a pinch.

i have windows 11 and i dont know how to access usb history on the files application. (this for Solution# 2)

So after I ran all these methods (disk drill was taking too long, so I assumed it'd be faster if I just recovered the files manually) All my USB drives weren't letting me: make new folders, save new files onto anywhere on them etc. and I thought I couldn't revert them back, obviously something in this video messed them up as they were working perfectly fine before. Took me an hour but I realised the reason for this (I did close disk drill with the x button) was disk drill was still running in the background without me even wanting it to. So I had to go into task manager to delete it and now everything is working fine, but this did waste 1 hour of my life.

Thanks! This happened to me a few days ago. When I was gonna work on some files, I noticed that my USB memory seemed to have cleansed itself of all the containing files. I panicked and started to look for solutions online and found this video. For me, it was Disk Drill that worked. Although some files were unrestorable, I managed to get some of the most important files back. Unfortunately, the second tip didn't help at all since the USB history had been inactivated all the time. From now on, I'm also gonna store files on Google Drive. That way, I have double guarantee just in case something like this would happen again.

Hello😢, please it says file history has found files that are encrypted with encrypting file system, on a network location, or on a drive that doesn't use the NTFS file system. These files won't be backed up.

I accidentally deleted the data from my car, how do I get it back?

I know this is from 3 years ago but I think this might have saved me. the only method that seems to be working is the last one from what I'm seeing but the thing is still scanning. I have years of digital artwork I've done saved on that. a grand majority of it was stuff I don't have saved anywhere nor shown to anyone, as its not been posted anywhere either. Over 1k images. I misclicked when deleting a file and accidentally deleted the whole entire folder. I felt like I was about to cry... like I lost YEARS of work in the matter of a second... I hope this works, and like I said its already looking like it might... thank you... I'm so so happy this video exists I can't stress that enough

on disk drill it says its gonna take 54 hours, is it because the usb storage is 2T? im really hoping this works because i have years worth of guitar recordings that show my progress since the very beginning. also just videos of festivals i went to with my dad to see bands that wont be playing much longer since they are old af now... im not even too bothered by the videos lost, whats bothering me is that my dad is so proud of my progress in music and loves the idea of recording stuff, theres also recordings of me and him playing together so i just feel guilty that I lost it all :( memories ill most likely never see again... im disappointed in myself

I accidentally deleted a couple of photographs from my USB drive which I'd already wiped off my SD card in my DSLR camera. It wasn't the end of the world but I was so so disappointed. With the Disk Drill site after recovering all of the files, Is it free? Cause I downloaded the recoverit from wondershare and after two days of scanning, it said I had to pay for the files but I couldn't cause of the website.

So the cmd method basically made every file corrupt.

Okay so I recovered data from an SD card. but it got accidentally thrown away. Disk Drill still has my recovered data saved but obviously I can’t recover it again without the SD card. So I bought another one that’s exactly the same as the one I had. I hope it works I mean it should if it’s the exact same one.
