If the missiles portrayed are supposed to be Tomahawks, they're portrayed slightly incorrectly. The Tomahawks only use a rocket motor to actually launch them. Within the first few seconds of flight, the rocket motor is jettisoned, and a small jet engine takes over, which doesn't produce a big flame behind like shown in this scene. Also, the Tomahawk is not quite as fast as seems to be depicted in this scene

Tadanobu Asano did a great job as Raiden in Mortal Kombat movie. What if Taylor Kitsch plays Johnny Cage instead of Karl Urban and these 2 actors could work together again since Battleship 2012 movie...

IMO the best scene of the movie because it shows actual military planning and thinking.
Still, they could do better and save their ship using math and physics.

They know the speed of their missiles, and they can find their range to each of the tsunami buoys to calculate the time of arrival.

They know the distance between the buoys and they can count how fast the alien ships are traveling from one to the next so they can calculate their speed.

With the admission they are not accelerating, the crew of the destroyer can calculate when to fire so as to hit the first alien ship ON THE FIRST TRY and avoid being detected. A stealth kill.

That way the last 2 enemy ships in the area would have moved towards them on a straight line and they would have the same fate like the first 2 in this scene.

The destroyer could beat all 3 and it wouldn't have been sunk.

long movie but great movie u have to let it play itself out.

While this movie did flop and does suck in certain times it's still a nice little movie even if many don't like it very much like me but I still love watching it because of the action and stuff

Who needs the whole movie when only 7 minutes actually references the board game lol?

I loved this movie just for this part. Two great navy super powers having gone to war now having to unite . And the US commander realizing he wasn’t better then his counterpart was huge that took such balls and spine. But it was the right call and wars are won and lost on right calls and wrong calls..

And the double amputee vet was just a testament to anyone who’s ever served for any force.
May every soldier who’s died fighting find their way to Valhalla
