A decadent pope; not entirely a new idea, but John Malkovich plays him beautifully. What an incredible actor — a perfect match for the role. Bravo 👍🏻👏🏻

What a great series. I hope it will come back, but I don't see how. These last episodes seemed to wind it up quite well for both Popes. Jude and John were unbelievable, but all the actors and their secondary characters, the sets - perfection.

one little complaint I had about the season is that the middle part of it becomes sort of lost and all over and focuses quite a bit on sex and lost characters, once it focused on Voeillo and the popes it was its usual perfection.

The actual Pope has his 'wounds'. He spent time in Argentina with a psychiatrist, and the Jesuit Superior sent a letter to Rome urging that he not be made a cardinal because of his mental health issues.

this is what the new pope is a typical rich kid who did not care anymore as his parents in their eyes he's no good and his Twin borther is everything to them, so he rebel got into drugs (heroin) which is in that box ,that he takes every night till he became a pope and in episode 7 it seems he's kicking it off.

John Malkovich RUINS This show! Thankfully Jude Law came out of his Coma. Hopefully Malkovich will be put out to Pasture!
Having said this, I like John Malkovich as an actor in most of his showings.

I grew quite fond of the new pope, actually. Such a sensible man, played perfectly by Mr. Malkovich. A giant Thank you to the extremely talented Paolo Sorrentino, for granting the audience something this original, honest, brilliant! Everything he did with this show, as well as the previous one, is beautiful, but one of the best moves was choosing John Malkovich for this character, I honestly can't think of anyone playing Sir Brannox and being this equal to the task! Malkovich himself once said "I think people seem to sort of associate me with danger. And I don't see that at all" and now the world can see how beautifully it fits him to be soft, vulnerable, gracious. Although he is my absolute favorite when he's a villain, too. I'm just glad we got the chance to see him as angelic for once. LOVE YOU, MR. MALKOVICH! John Paul III is seriously becoming one of my favorite fictional characters. He is so delicate and poetic, and so complex. I can't wait to unravel his entire story, all of the ways his grief affected him and made him not a porculane, but a glass man, in my opinion. Lenny's return is now inevitable, and I honestly fear his return, since he is the No1 protagonist of the series - "The Saint". If he makes my beloved John the second again, my heart will break.
