I was not able to get the 'Mark as done' button in the 'Action' for the xml code. I have to look around and find my mistake
I was not prepending the id with 'action' but 'model'
<record id="model_mark_as_done" model="ir.actions.server">
and when I change it to 'action' as follow, then I get it working.
<record id="action_mark_as_done" model="ir.actions.server">

Great tutorials, but the other types in “Action To Do” such as: Send Email, SMS, Execute several actions ...,etc are predefined or they need coding too ? I didn’t grasp the idea of server actions well, whats the difference between them and methods declared in the models and executed via buttons for ex. ?
