I already preordered this game and I got so pumped up because, it’s Assassin’s Creed, I am apart of a Viking historical re-enactment group (Vinland Texas Vikings) that does full immersion events and we do full contact, real steel weapon fights. For those that don’t know what that means the weapons we use are 100% real hand forged weapons that are blunted but can still be deadly if not used properly. No LARPing here. Plus we also learn the hearth/household side of their lives which include blacksmithing, glass making, wood working, weaving, cooking, etc. if it was during the Viking age and we have physical evidence from an archaeological site to support it then we can use it. After seeing this trailer I CAN’T WAIT!

As someone who's been a fan of the AC series since 2012, you have no idea how happy I am

I hope it wont be p2w like odysey, or better pay for progress, becuse grind was insane. I hope there wil be shields and 2 handed, becuse, no hoplon in odysey is a shame.

I prefer the new blade...its more logical as an actual weapon

The trailer made it look like what I can assume is king Alfred's words were lies or deceit. I hate that, he was known as "the great" for a reason, Britain were people defending their lands., same goes for France.

It'd be nice if it was rather like Rogue and actually had the assassins (this time vikings) be somewhat corrupt and have your character realize that, then have conflicting feelings for either side to the point they joined the Templars (this time England) to stop them.

We know the vikings (a group of "free" folk) eventually joined civilization and order after being slapped by reality- that is pretty Templar like if you ask me.

They should have just gone with the flow of things and history, plus lets not forget how many fans are crying about it not being assassins creed enough anymore- this idea would save that.



In short if you somehow dont know like ubisoft is somehow choosing not to-

Vikings= Heavily glorified to the point they are loved, rapists, murderers, pillagers, thieves

Western countries like France and England= Victims, defenders, the actual unsung heroes of this part of history



Make the vikings Assassins with broken morals or deeper corruption and have England be actually good willed Templars like in rogue having to put a stop to them. This then creates a nice balance of left and right- Freedom and Order, dont tip the scales.

Considering vikings died out in 1066 and the actual crusades begun in 1080's (Templars formed in 1118), this could have been a great way to show the origins of the Templars further.
Christ, it gets easier by the day to be better than the designers in most of media.
Or be lazy and just do another Odyssey- god knows it'll be a replica of gameplay anyways, have it so you cant have any influence on the larger overarching background war whilst you deal with underground shiz, dont make the good people bad just because modern culture deems vikings as "cool".

Pretty good trailer overall. What I liked most about it was the historical accuracy when it came to armour in the scene where the huge knight was battling the Viking leader. Armour, even scale armour, blocked blows from axes no problem. Many fantasy series make it seem like armor is made from butter, but no, it's steel folks. Steel. Even just scale armor did an adequate job of defending swords, axes, and arrows.
