Ответитьawesome love it
ОтветитьI see you are a fan of Historie as well.
ОтветитьSuch a good channel, the most in depth selucid empire channel I’ve found, Rome total war got me here
ОтветитьShame such an interesting tale ruined by intrusive, clattering piano cacophony
ОтветитьThank you for crafting this informative and inspiring series.
ОтветитьExcellent content.
A side thought: Why are the British so good with history?
A lot of people talk badly about them for the British Museum and otherwise.
But the reality is most people when looking for videos of documentaries about anything, whether nature, history, etc they will always choose a British person.
Me personally even though the Brit might not have more credentials or anything I'll pick his video on a topic over an American, Chinese, etc.
I wonder why that is? It seems illogical but I do it and so do most people who watch things in English.
Lincoln had the cherry tree. Not Washington.
ОтветитьI studied at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. You shouldn't approach these documentaries, as history in the typical sense. Treat it as an interesting speculative documentary with some historical information thrown in. There's an intelligent documentary to be made about Seleucus I Nicator and the Hellenistic culture and this isn't it.
Manolis Andronikos, famous for his findings and excellent work about the Hellenicity of Macedonia which proove beyond any doubt what Macedonians were.
The ancient Greeks used the name "Italia" In addition to the "Greek Italy" and it was Ulfilas, a Greek Who Created the Early German Alphabet.
The Greeks created it, the Germans copy it, and the English exploit it. 😅
No other small country can compare with Greece in terms of impact on human benefit.
In the beginning... God created the Earth, and in the light blue waters, put a small ship to travel forever, in order not only to give birth but also to transfer great ideas all over the world ...
He called that ship...HELLAS! 🐬
The only good is knowledge, and the only evil is ignorance. Herodotus.
I have no idea how im just coming across this channel. Great work! I cant wait to finish this series.
ОтветитьSo Alexander was never actually defeated. He just stopped at the point where he almost died and his army almost revolted on him?.... Most try to play this off as if the Macedonian army lost to the Indy army.
ОтветитьLOVE IT!
ОтветитьSelucus was father in law of first indian emperor chandragupta maurya
ОтветитьLAO/ DIKE is Greek for people/victory
as BIBLE student would you consider consulting Greek professor since to know the meanings of Greek names is enriching as well as a help in remembering them as you do for DIODOCHI/SUCCESSORS /EUMENES Alexander secretary means eu/good something/menes unknown
also ANTIPATER/ANTIPAS in BIBLE/could you reference in your videos biblical names and cities dating from Greek Era for Bible lovers/DANIEL 11 IS SELEUCID CHAPTER
some of paintings shown are exceptionally beautiful never seen before and so would like to know who painted them and their current location/e/g video time 10/45 and 11/11 death of Alexander/Thank you
The background music ruins everything 😒😒😒
ОтветитьBaktria please
ОтветитьKnow I'm late but thank you so very much for these videos. The Seleucids are my favorite but they usually get relegated to a few foot notes in historical literature. Awesome to have a whole series on this most important empire!
ОтветитьI would love it if you could provide us with the music playlist for this video.
ОтветитьShould've done it without the extremely irritating background music
ОтветитьVery well structured buddy, a pleasure to listen. GL!
ОтветитьCan't believe there is a 16 video list of this lol. Definitely gonna check it out.
ОтветитьFantastic video, I’m very familiar with the history of Philip and Alexander but after Alexander’s death my knowledge drops off. And I couldn’t find any really good videos detailing it until yours. I’m super excited to watch the rest.
ОтветитьOh boy just found your channel, can’t wait to watch this series, hope you are still gonna make more videos
ОтветитьI thought Eumenes was acknowledged as a Cardian Greek. Close to the Thracians geographically, but ultimately a Greek regardless. Please clarify for me.
ОтветитьIt's so awesome that you've managed to make a narrative series on the Seleucids before seemingly anyone else. Please keep it up, it's awesome!
ОтветитьDamn i like this hope you make about the other diadochi
ОтветитьHoly smokes, I was trying desperately to find something on the Seleucid empire, and I legit just stumbled upon this. Thanks so much for doing it.
ОтветитьAwesome channel, glad I found it 😊👍
ОтветитьAwesome series!
I’m playing the Seleucids in Rome 2 and listening to this great presentation.
Also love how you mentioned that the sarissa used by Alexander was 18 feet long, not 21. That came later during the Diadochi period!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Good to see a fellow Aussie getting into post-Alexandrian history.
Don’t give up man. Keep going.
ОтветитьIncredibly detailed and well organized video, I am really excited for the next one
ОтветитьLovin this series, and still have many vids to see! Long Live Seleucus!!
ОтветитьKeep up the good work. Looking forward to Part II.
ОтветитьIncredible detail, very informative and engaging - looking forward to the rest of the series!
ОтветитьDan sent me!
ОтветитьNice one, looking forward to the next in the series.
