I had a friend who quit League of legends and all because he got tired of the e-girl skins and the cutesy anime crap.

I'm someone who got into LOL for the experience of playing my first MOBA and the champs that attracted me the most, were the champions from Icathia/The Void!

Malzahar and Vel'Koz were the first two champs I started playing and then I played champs like Swain, Talon, Kassadin, and then I started playing Thresh after seeing Samsung White stomp Starhorn Royal Club. Kha'Zix and Rengar are my favorite jungle champs and overall, the champ build-up within the void has been excellent!

I too miss the days when RIOT actually made great champ concepts and champ designs. Imo, we need more Void champs, we've yet to get an official Void support champ and we are missing a Fighter for the top lane and a tank jungler for the Void as well.

We had Rek'Sai, who WAS a tank, but her tank build landed her up 5000HP and her ultimate was originally broken, which RIOT nerfed her into being a bruiser.

We have two adc's for the void, two mages, two assassins, one tank, and a bruiser. No, I don't count Renata as being part of the void, even though she has gained its resources for power.


What I am saying is that we want more champs, with cool designs and cool concepts, enough with the whack ideas!!

Thing is.. LoL being cutesy and anime-ish is what drawn me to the game way back 2010 same with other young girls like me that time :) I tried DOTA but it never clicked because I never liked the aesthetics. Don't get me wrong tho.. I still like their monster champions especially Thresh (I find him sexy).

Monster champs tend to be either super basic or super tryhrad like mechanically.

Just look at aurelion sol
He got a revamp to his abilities because of how nuanced his gameplay is....

Look at rengar he either be good or trash (I'm looking at you s5 - s7) because of how nuanced his gampley is

(The exemptions to this rule is nasus and warwick they were early designs) with some gimmick attached to them.

In summary make monster champs more fun and engaging just look at Dota2 your competition in moba
They have cool looking monsters and people still buy their accessories because of how fun they are how engaging and rewarding they are to play as.

eh, the changes were only made on the model's texture. Not even sure if it will make it to the splashart.

The sad thing is, they do recognize that they only allow themselves to release less creature champions because of business. And when they did, this time with smolder, they didn't go all in.

League is more of K-Pop, LGBT, and Disney inspired champions now. Not the right direction I like, even though I barely open the game since Gwen’s release.

To put in perspective, I’ve started playing from early 2015 when Braum was the latest release.

Personally, I started disliking most new champions since Lilia and Seraphine, they're so damn annoying in visual design and personality. But they're very popular amongst casual players who spend a lot of money I guess, Riot wants money so it's a no brainer where they'll lean to.

I mean small audience for creature champions might also have something to do with their kit and place in the meta being outdated or not advantageous not just their visual design. If they buffed someone like nafiri or made an update to champions like bard or the void champs or actually made a monster-like champion in lore and gameplay I think thered be an audience for that. But also new KDA line please, banger skins and soundtracks for 2024😅

The real upside is that people are whining about aesthetics and not game mechanics or balance. Don't get me wrong, whining about a character design is a total, non-issue that developers will never satisfy, but at least we can laugh at the people who take it seriously.

Creature champions have low pick rates because they are all SITUATIONAL and less adaptable.

But that's what creatures should be.

Just gonna quote what Riot says, most of the old champs that are an opposite to the new cute champs aren’t played at all comparatively. Why not make champs that fit the current player base? I won’t play them, I love my big tanks but I most people I know that are new prefer the newer characters

For some reason this never bothered me but I also get why it would bother other people. And it's definitely getting a little weird for sure. Also, I think, at least compared to other companies, Riot does a pretty job at listening to their community. I remember when vex came out, the two biggest complaints about champions were overloaded kits, and too many sexy anime characters. And it felt like Vex was a response to both of those. She was simple but good, and had a funny and unique design.

Please stop letting them have the "it's a business" excuse they arent a small indie company they make more than my entire apartment building makes in a year. They can innovate and still sell skins.

I like when they bring out cute characters occasionally, something a bit different is cool. But when its continuous and your badass character comes out once or twice in an entire season, its kinda dead
