I have an older macbook pro that seems like it would be the one you used there. I also tore the HD out of my even older airplane nose mac desktop that has the ribbon plug. Is there one that does both? That second more expensive amazon link?

NOT that simple for PC!!!!!!! Windows usually Won't detect the Drive......you Must go into "Disk Management" and make the drive visible by assigning a "Letter" name to the drive first.

Yes! Thank you! My only advice would be to make this into 2 videos. One for how to remove the hard drive and one for how to recover data from the hard drive. Maybe you have already done that?

You did not show how to connect Desktop drive, with them can be difficulties, driver not installed, etc.

Ok, I open hard drive. It says sata, 1gb
I measured short way, it’s 2.5 inch width.

So a 2.5 inch sata to usb cable will literally show up in new pc and I can just drag files if I plug in usb just like an external hd?

can you move from a hard drive to an outside storage instead of onto another pc? I have 2 pc harddrives I need to extract from, but I now have a laptop.

I bought the SATA cable you suggested but my hard drive isn't being detected or even turned on when I plugged it into my laptop. I have a 2TB Seagate Barracuda that I would like to access. Is there anything else I can try?
