Austin based band Empty Trail releases their brand new EP titled “Introspect”. This Grunge /
Hard Rock collection of four songs will take you through a journey of dark and thoughtful
imagery. In contrast to their past EP “Lost”, listeners can expect more of a return to their
original roots.
Guitarist and singer Rick Lambert states, “I’ve always loved music and have been genuinely
passionate about art that lends it self to be darker. Not to say I’m not positive about the future,
as I absolutely am, but I love the imagery of it all.”
A lone guitar riff starts the EP, which soon crescendos into an aggressive yet thoughtprovoking chorus. The first song, “The Last Time”, embodies this dark and question like nature
which fans of bands like Alice in Chains and Soundgarden will be familiar of.
Track number two, “And I Pray”, treats the listener with synth bass in addition to brooding and
somber vocals throughout. Empty Trail hints at an influence as an almost Tom Morello esc
guitar solo leads strongly into the last chorus.
The third song, “The Hole that’s left inside”, slowly builds into a melodic and nostalgic peak.
Adding interesting vocal effects on the buildup to the last chorus chanting, “Live on” that
almost resembles something robotic or futuristic.
“Transcend” ends the EP, giving listeners a bit of a metal vibe with its down-tuned guitars and
haunting lyrics. Rick Lambert sings, “So will you fall, to chase this feeling again”, staying in
brand to his question like lyrics.
Empty Trail plans on continuing to build its place in the rock world, while being joined by more
and more devoted fans daily. Talks of touring are still in the works as the world begins to
possibly open up again.
Empty Trail officially has crossed the one million threshold on Spotify while boasting its more
than 8 million collective views on YouTube.
