How to stop about 80% of your bounce outs hitting the floor.

I have a shelf, 130cm above the floor, directly under the 3 segment. 35cm wide and 50cm long. I put a towel on the shelf.
The shelf does not get in the way of retrieving darts from the board, in my experience.
The towel cushions those darts that generally fall straight down off the board, so they don't bounce off the shelf onto the floor.


If you have arthritis in your knees or otherwise have trouble bending over, try it out. Saves a lot of drama dealing with the pain in your knees or back to bend over and retrieve the darts a lot.
I'm not there yet but I have a telescopic mechanics tool with a magnet on one end for the time when I won't be able to bend over and pick up bounce out darts that hit the floor.
Might be useful for people to get when they have to retrieve darts from the floor and don't like asking others to get them for you.

Maybe get a tall box and throw a towel over it and put it under your dart board to see if it works for you before committing to the installation of a permanent shelf.
