Why does the wide angle lens on my gg 4a 5g only shoot at 12.2MP when I find it at the properties of the photo.

I was looking to upgrade from the Galaxy S9. I like the aux cord and the fingerprint on the back of the 4A 5G. I'm big on the camera and just want some more storage. Is it worth getting the 4A 5G? Or wait. I'm thinking of just clearing up all my photos with google photos and my S9 would be faster if I have my storage cleared and not worth upgrading phones. Any thoughts!?
