PC Players Don't Care Much For PlayStation Ports Anymore?

Well a big part of the reason interest in the more recent ports has dwindled is because the Sony sequels in all of these franchises have all become much woker than the first games.

It's true though, I have enough to play on PC. I don't need to touch any of the playstation ports at all. Having to sign into PSN to play the games is just not worth it for me.

People would be HYPED if they removed the banned sale from a huge portion of the world. Hell even Concord had this restriction, they are shooting their own sales in the foot...

Nobody cares about Sony's woke shit with this PSN Linking crap. PS5 generation is crap, bring PS4 games, like Bloodborne, and games from consoles that came before, like classic god of war, shadow of the colossus, gravity rush, infamous to PC and see the "magic" return

I do care about PS games! These are some of the best games, released on PC. Detroit, Days Gone, GoW, TLoU, Uncharted, Spider Man, Horizon - all these games are masterpieces. If not for Sony, PC platform would be a much less attractive place to play games for me. Most probably I would not even bother upgrading my PC then. I'd just buy PS5 instead.

just because 15,000 games come out every new year doesn't mean gamers buy them all.
people tend to buy the usual well-known brands or famous software houses. if a minor brand grows it is because it is pumped up by social media as happened with Palworld which was passed off as Pokémon with guns

It just feels so delayed. Why pay so much money for games that have been available to others for several years? I can wait to buy them heavily discounted.

The only Bethesda game I’ve not played all the way through is Fallout 4. I enjoyed Starfield.
I’m a PC player and I’ve bought Spider-Man, Returnal (my game of the gen so far), Helldivers 2 and Ghost of Tushima but I won’t buy any new releases from PS now they make you sign up to PSN. If they had done this from the beginning I’d probably not be bothered but adding it now just stinks.

tens of millions of pc ownerss also own ps5 or ps4 consoles..so need to get a pc port of a game they probably already pwn... or played..

Here you're wrong... It's not like pc gamers don't care about ps ports, it's about god damn psn account. Why you need a psn account for a single player game? 180 countries can't purchase their games. If we look at old ports like first god of war game, horizon zero dawn, spider man remastered, all three sold pretty well on pc, with more than 6 mil copies, which is a lot considering they port these games after 3-4 years.

Sony thinks jus dropping a PC port guarantee sales, there needs to be hype and promotion. Thats what the problem is with PC ports, if the port doesnt sale well, its either a bad port or usually no promotion around it.

i just do not care about every single Sony Game.
I bought GoW, GoW Ragnarök, Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, The Spiderman Games and Ghost of Tsushima and i loved them except for Horizon ZD.
and i will buy Spiderman 2 if and when it will come to PC eventually.
I am also excited for the Venom Game, Wolverine, Bluepoints and Sony Bends Games and Whatever Sony Santa Monica is making.

You want what you can’t have.
Once both Playstation and Xbox ported to PC, they just became generic multiplat games in less popular genres.
Exclusives work because they’re something you get in addition to the big multiplat games, that can cater to niche audiences and add value to what is available EVERYWHERE.
This is also why both Xbox and Playstation are making fewer games, are dumbing them down and making them more ‘safe’ for a general audience, and are only pursuing AAA games that can be heavily monetised.
You can either have great, unique games that only get released on the platform they act as adverts for, or you can have cookie cutter AAA games that are barely distinguishable from the rest of the third party publisher slop.
You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

i want to be honest here, i have been a PC player since i was a kid but in the last 2 gen consoles i bought them for the exclusives. NOW after like 8 years of having a console close to my pc i can safely say 99% of the exclusive are ovverrated, GREAT games yes but nothing special worth getting consoles for if you like staying on pc.

Most Sony games are insanely overrated by reviewers. They look incredible, have high production values and acting, but their gameplay is often nothing special. On PC, they’re just like any other publisher and don’t get extra points for being a first-party dev/publisher.

Bllodborne is the only good game Sony has. Wukong was massively boosted by Chinese bots, stop using it as a metric.

Oh no, I want the ports, I just don’t want to deal with linking my pc to a PSN account given Sony has a track record of being hacked lol. I play single player titles mostly, what does PSN have to do with zero dawn, forbidden west, days gone, god of war and ragnorak etc. also pc users don’t like paying full price above all.

Playstation games are not worth the wait. If anything it's like watching a movie, they are barely replayable in a sense that a second playthrough is often a shore to experience as there is little to no substance lost after you first played it. And I mean, it's fine as long as they are other type of games. Just look how good Astro Bot is doing, people are fed up with this cinematic stuff Playstation been trying to push a decade ago.

Games that take a lot of time to male, barely replayable and that's the result you'll have in a console that barely has games.

Games are available in less countries, they require PSN account link even on single player games, and Sweet Baby Inc was involved in the production of their most recent games. It really is no wonder their sales are down.

In my opinion, the games themselves just aren't that good.

Now, if Bloodborne was announced to come to PC tomorrow, suddenly nobody would be talking about novelty anymore. Even if they still required people to sign to PSN, some will still be upset but most will tolerate it just to play Bloodborne and they know that.

Sony's games are just getting worse. That's it. The whole "movie-like" style they're known for. That is what's worn off on me.

I'm ok with PC ports if they run well.
And I don't like being forced to sign up to Sony PS log in to play. Nor do I want to hear about identity politics or have censorship of people stating their opinions.
That's why I didn't buy Horizon Forbidden West.

I don't have a problem with paying full price for a game that came out a few years ago that's finally ported to the PC if it's good. If the game is actually good then I want to reward the developers for it. They deserve to be paid or credited.

Starfield is still not good no matter what they add to it. In order for it to be good it needs to be totally overhauled and redone.

Xbox game pass is not buying the game.
I have Xbox game pass and I played games that I normally wouldn't have bought just because they were there.
And I even spent a good amount of time in Starfield. But I wouldn't have bought that either. It's just not that good.

Im a huge ps games fan but now i can tell that the quality of their games are taking a nose-dive, GOWR,Horizon FW,Spider man 2 these does not have the quality of the first games, its funny how PS fans are here defending their precious games because as a fan myself just face the truth, those games are not what the used to be and probably will never reach those standards ever again

Play Gow 1 for couple hours then put it aside n most prob gonna delete it. Nope not gonna buy Ragnarok… as tech demo gonna be smashing

For me is that stupid PS account linking also no Bloodborne. They can keep all those mid games they are porting.

The only Sony exclusive i like is Bloodborne n Ghost n Uncharted. Tlou actually amazing but i have my weird reason to totally ignore it indefinitely… Astrobot looks great but i owned Switch so I get the better game in Mario. My Steam/Epic games backlog is insanely huge. Too much games too little time.

Launching ports so much later doesn't only mean that the hype has died down but also there has been time for criticism to develop that might drive sales away. Everyone who preordered Ragnarok at launch had no idea how much handholding chatter there would be or how much Marvel writing.

Things sometimes lose the appeal, when you are finally able to aquire them.

I felt this way after Spider-man PS4 came to PC and I played it on Steam. After years of gaming media calling it one of the greatest games ever made and it was mid. Nothing really stood out and the story was incredibly short. The Miles Morales game was awful. I haven't bought a PS game on PC since those two.

The FOMO has passed for PC gamers when it comes to Sony titles. I only got into PS4 after PS5 launched just to see if the hype was real. I used to love MLB games but Xbox did not carry over the MLB 2k games to Xbox One so I missed out on baseball for that generation. So I picked up the PS4 then MLB The Show ended up coming to Xbox. I decided to try some of the exclusives everyone always praised and most of them didn't bring me any more enjoyment than old titles of the same IP from the generation before or similar games I had already played on Xbox and PC. Sony exclusives are overrated when you factor in all of the choices you have from third-party developers on both Xbox and PC. No hate, but if you're not a fan of the Spider-Man or Horizon style of gameplay there's not much keeping you on PlayStation. For me, the new Spider-Man games don't feel much different than the old PS2 Spider-Man games, they have a new coat of paint. I'm talking about the gameplay. The combat felt floaty to me and that's the problem I had with the older Spider-Man games. I prefer Tomb Raider over Uncharted and they're the same kind of game to me. I prefer Forza to GT. So basically once I really gave PS4 a shot I felt like I wasn't missing anything and some of the similar third-party games I played were better for me. I grabbed the first handful of Sony games to come to PC like everyone else and a lot launched with issues.

i will still buy their games on PC but y when u release your games years after their originall release the hype is going away i mean i watched full playthrough of TLOU 2 atleast twice and there is still no PC release and we know its ready,u can avoid spoilers for 1y but 2-3 years or even 4 are way to much and sooner or later PS will start losing $$$ not just cause of the PC situation and the PSN BS but laso that half of their playerbase is on last gen while a game like Black Myth is current gen and most of the sells came from PC not PS and pSony prop doesn;t like that

getting sloppy seconds 3 years later isnt really gonna excite. PC crowd are more likely to get a new game that still has hype around it.

As a PC gamer 95% of PS5's exclusives have interested me. In fact, the majority of the games I have for my PS5 are PS4 games lol. Shit.. the only PS5 game I'm eagerly waiting to come to PC is Stellar Blade, and I purchased it physical for PS5.
