No need to buy for 400 dollars. You can buy them from a uk merchant for 220

These jackets are not worth it. Any quality hard-shell polyester jacket with a fleece lining is superior. More durable, zero maintenance, and cheaper.

Heeelp i want so bad the bedale but can’t sort the sizing:
-height 178cm
-weight 80 cm
-chest 107cm

I was looking To buy it 2 hand but seems like every barbour has its
Own mesures.
So far I was thinking of a c42 or c44 size

(The only jacket I cloud try on was the Ashby in L and it was perfect)

Great jackets for outdoor pursuits, big enough for layering for different seasons, the more wax you put on them ,less breathable they are, two way zip is a great bonus .
One of mine is over 35 years old and still great cond, been back to barbour once for a repair. Luckily still fits as I bought a size up many years back, the older ones ,classic have a eight to ten inch chest tolerance for layering and for when lifting arms up ,fishing, shooting, horse riding.
Newer slim styles are not the same as original.

I agree with the below comment. If you value quality and heritage buy the Barbour. I do not care for the Royal endorsement . I know many beaters and " countrymen and hunt people" who walk many miles in secondhand Barbour handed from gentry but those gentry are not predisposed. Any way, Advice to Yankees buy yourselves a Gud Dut. i.e. Weather proof hat. from Barbour in South Shields. Caps or Duts just ask!

Why not a Hybrid made from Barbours top selling jackets ?
The Beaudale could have the back pocket to carry a hood , gloves or hat as well as the wind gerts on the sleeves.

The Bedale was originally designed as a riding jacket, hence the shorter cut.

I have the Beaufort for the extra length, to cover a jacket as described in the video. "Hot" tip; That rear game pocket makes a great pouch for one of those microwaveable heat pads, to keep the lower back warm if standing around for long periods outside.

I can't believe you didn't cover the Border. I have one and they're amazing. Kind of like the Beaufort but it goes down to the knees. Much better if you're actually going to use it for outdoors activities. And the best feature is a HUGE inner pocket (one normal sized and one huge) where you can more or less fit a small laptop without any problem.

Well it looks good but the quality is average; my wife jacket failed after just 3 years; still have my fist one but only because it was a present from my parents; wouldn't buy another one; still have my old army jacket and as it turns out it will outlive me;

I originally wanted to have a bedale, because of the reasons you mentioned. The store me and my mom went to buy it at had sadly ran out of the bedale. They still had the beaufort, so we decided to buy it as an early birthday present for me, because I needed it at the time. I quickly fell in love with the large poacher pocket as a storage space for my gloves and scarf. When I visited england with my class, I was once again glad to have the pocket to protect my maps and the gloves I purchased there.

I had one (can't remember the model) for many years for horse riding. They are great, quite warm, wind- and waterproof and durable. The zip-on hood is very useful for riding, because it zips off in case your hood gets stuck on a branch. Once I almost got pulled off the horse at such occasion while wearing a jackett with a fixed hood. Only downside to Barbour jackets is the fact you have to renew the wax from time to time, which is quite expensive and tedious.

Now that our Monarch has changed, it'll be interesting to see the Royal Warrant change, I have no doubt Barbour will be one of the companies that are selected to receive a warrant from Charles III considering they already had one from him as Prince of Wales, and he continues to be a fan of their quality.

Just got a Barbour Corbridge in Scotland and it’s amazing. Kept all the wind and rain out and didn’t get damaged at all when I accidentally raked the cuff across a barbed wire fence when I was getting a closer look at a Highland Cow. I like the more tailored, rugged look of the Corbridge to the ones mentioned in this video.

The Beadale is styled for horseback riding. The snap lower back flap is for sitting in a saddle, not for large bums. The sleeves seem short because these jacket patterns were made many years ago to fit British people, who were substantially smaller back then.

Well, as far as sleeve length concerns with your Barbour you could often contact Barbour about your special sleeve length and then you could get appropriate sleeve length . Contact Barbour before any purchase and they will take good care of you.
Especially once they are made aware of who you are.

They sometimes do special models, my bedale I got from a barbour store (quite a big one too) and they had a store exclusive a bedale without storm cuffs in brown, which was exactly what I would have dreamed off, I can throw a fleece with cuffs on underneath and it seals off the elements

Things wrong with this review:
1. The Ashby is not considered a classic, it's part of the contemporary line.
2. Talking about Sylkoil but shows a picture of Thornproof; They're not the same finish.
3. The quality of the outsourced jackets are noticeably of lesser quality. For the famous quality of Barbour you have to stick to the classic range, which is still produced in house.
