Timers and Restricted Zones Explained - Eternal Return: Black Survival Beginners Guide

I am super confused about the "temporary safe zones have been activated" thing with two green squares... I go inside one and my red timer is still ticking?? The last two green squares before the one at the console...

I've died immedietly in the restricted zone what's up with that?
