I want to believe that he has changed his feelings for her . She was first to send Happy Birthday, give him a gift . She didn’t betray him when Ryuen tortured her and told her that Ayanakoji was behind the bullying scene at the ship . The times where Karuizawa was jealous of him .
He knows that she was brave , really cares for him . All noble qualities for appreciate her .
Ayanakoji didn’t have much appreciation for her . Thinking that she was a parasite that only cared for herself. But he found out about the bullying in her past . He saw the scar on her body . He realised why she didn’t resist to his order to spread her legs . Although he wouldn’t do that . That was test to check her what resist she would have .
Karuizawa had great character development in season 2 . That’s why I want to see them together at the end.
Ayanokoji has an internal conflict inside him . He saw the white room pain . But he wants to live a normal life.
Many texted about how he manipulates other people. Monologues when he says winning is everything and doesn’t matter what means to succeed. His perception that people are simply pawns to him .
But at the scene with Karuizawa wonders if he would think other people more than simply pawns .
In first season he did noble things . He saved Sakura . He stopped Manabu from hitting Horikita . He didn’t betray Ike when Ike put Karuizawa’s underwear in his pocket . He secretly stopped Ike , Sudo and others to spy in girls lockers room .
Horikita doesn’t need romance as character to shine . The only thing that Ayanakoji would break up with Karuizawa is in future to protect her from his father , other rivals that would seek the opportunity to hurt him through her .
