Never heard the ghost notes until saw this video a few years back. He always wove a lot of complexity into his compositions and never just to do it because he could but because the music needed it.

He just has a way of making it all come together ... naturally ... seemingly effortlessly ... 😊

Holy freaking shit I am at a loss for words.

Not even a huge Rush fan, but anytime people ask who I think the greatest band of all time is, I never hesitate. Each member of Rush is arguably the greatest of all time at their respective instrument. On top of that, three of the best musicians of all time in one band. So, regardless of my personal music preference, I can not deny the greatness and sheer talent level of this group when asked that question.

best drummer in the world or not? I don't know. but without a doubt, one of the best composers who ever wrote rock music.

Most people can't make it through an entire Rush song, they are so overly pompous and boring. Neil might have been a nice guy to go with his pedestrian drumming. The absolute worst three piece band in the history of music.
