macOS High Sierra - What's New?

I just got a new iMac from 2011, I know its old but we move, macOS High Sierra runs very well on this, it has a quad core i5 with 8GB ram, but nah this is very good and im enjoying using the software (I mainly use Safari and google web based services)

What are the specs of the MacBook used in this video.

Stick with it. More efficient optimized code, faster, faster, faster code. Optimizing, Optimizing, Optimizing. And fix that awfull Arabesque screen saver. It's peanuts for developers to fix that. 5 Minutes of work for a well paid developer. Make the iCloud engine more responsive, some functions are still sluggish!

There is one important reason why you need to update your system to High Sierra - many programs cannot be upgraded to new versions or you cannot install them at all if you do not have High Sierra on your mac.

I just downgraded from Mojave to High Sierra because my iMac 21.5 Base Model 2017 was having super laggy issues, now its incredibly fast! I AM SUPER EXCITED! Thanks for highlighting what's new!

looks like I am a little behind on the updates, but since I have updated to the macOS High Sierra I have lost the name of my hard drive... it has changed to \\\. Is there a reason for that; is it something I should be concerned about or is it part of the OS update? Thank you for any information on this.

From all the things you just mention only the first part about video compressing would be useful. This video looks more like fanatism but good editing.

I have not updated to macOS high sierra because all the issues that many people are still having. You should do a video on the many issues that macOS high sierra has.

I just got my macbook air 2017. I'm not that impressed by the so called 10 hour battery life. Don't know if they meant without WiFi or just by playing a video life. Please tell me if using WiFi won't even get this a 6 hour battery life. Also, should I update all apps and the os to highsierra for better battery life? Have you experienced it? Do let me know. Help a brother out guys. :)

I'm an IT Technician and use my Mac for work like programming network gears through telnet and consoles but from the latest MacOS High Sierra update, I cannot do any of these work anymore. It's bad to be living in Africa but I would have been amongst the people that are suing their a$$es. Now my Mac is a useless piece of trash sitting in my backpack. and I'm now forced to start using windows again and another bummer is, I have a 64GB Apple TV but cannot store sh!t on it either. Only two things I'm using from Apple that I don't have problem with are the Airpods(Magical) and Apple watch.

Aaron, I have a Mac Pro (Early 2009) that I upgraded the 2 CPUs with a firmware hack a couple of years ago. The OS is on a 1TB PCIe SSD and the the four drive bays are filled with rotational hard drives.  I am currently running Sierra with no problems.    If I install High Sierra will there be any problems with the data already installed?   Will the upgrade to the new APFS affect anything?  Great video - you have a great way of expressing yourself.

Great Job as always. Re: “Log Me In Rescue”. Maybe I don’t pay enough attn. to Macbook Pro OS updates. Just updated to 10.13.2 & I hope,it’s the most recent, as of 12/17. (took > 20’ to install!) However, just noticed this: “LogMeIn Rescue” & never saw it in previous updates. So-tried searching for, what this actually does. But can’t find a single site explaining it. In the Apple Community posts, so many ppl. said: “UNINSTALL IT” it’s a hazard for security. Can U pls explain LogMeIn Rescue is??? Thnx.

Would you recommend high sierra vs anything else? i'm currently running of OS X extended journaled and it prevents me from getting certain apps. Was gonna get regular Sierra but don't have enough info to back up which to get. thanks!
