Took a toothbrush with the alcohol slight brushed on it scrubbed the ish out of the console side and it worked

It worked, perfectly, not a single issue when i turned it back on

I have a different problem. I got it the super Mario wonder game. It was working all of a sudden the left joy con and the right joy con quit ,working when connected to the Nintendo switch.
Updating the firmware under controllers, made it worse where the right joy gun would keep on disconnecting repeatedly after I detached it and put it back on. It started to work but I’m still having the issues sometimes and it’s not Luz it’s firm on the switch. Would this solution fix the problem?

Mine is the opposite how to fix ?

Before I fix my right joy con, my right joy con got disconnect without detach my right joy con. I was playing splatoon 3 with handheld mode until my right joy con got disconnect itself without detach the controller.

IT WORKS! I was already prepared to open the Switch and replace that part. Cleaning it with alcohol worked perfectly.

So I just bought a used Nintendo switch and im having a problem similar to this wear my left joy stick doesn't work while im in a game @lordshump like when im in the menu and the joy con is snapped in/attached it works but then when I enter a game it stops working while attached what do you think my issue is bro

Wanted to share for anyone else: the joycon would connect when it wasn't clicked in all the way. Once it clicked in, it disconnected. So I could slide it almost all the way in and it would connect but once it clicked in it would disconnect. I tried this cleaning technique and it didn't work. I looked in the joycon in the part that connects to the console and noticed one if the prongs was right up against another. So I got a needle and used it to straightened the prong out. That did the trick! It now connects when clicked in all the way

You can actually buy small pointy tipped cotton swabs in the cosmetics aisle at the store

I'm having this exact issue with my OLED model (right JoyCon struggles to connect to console in handheld mode) just shortly after a year. Can't wait to try this once I get my controllers back as I traded it temporarily from someone who never uses their Switch. The problem is most definitely in the controller as other JoyCons work fine on my console, while my original controller still won't connect to other consoles.

Ahhh... The Nintendo classic issue returns. They just can't get those contacts to work right even after literally their entire history of producing console games

could this work for me too my joycon only works with Bluetooth mode but if I slide it into my switch only the right one goes into console mode and the left one works but isnt registered as connected to the console mode and thinks it's still Bluetooth but still charges just fine I don't seem to see any answers and was hoping you could help me with this problem 🙏

If you don’t want to unscrew parts, here’s how to do it:
First, go to settings, then go to the controllers and sensors tab. Scroll all the way down again. You will then see a button that says “Disconnect Controllers” click on it. Hold X on your right joy con so that all controllers are no longer paired. Attach the Right Joy Con again. Hold the power tab on the switch screen for long enough, then you get to see some buttons. Click close switch, then turn off. Hold it again until the word “Nintendo” appears on the screen. If you have notifications on, then you will see that your left joy con is paired.

I did this on December 2022. Deffinitely works. I waited three days after cleaning to make sure the switch was working properly. It has been. This man saved me $300. Thanks!!

I have a problem with the console. Attached or not attached the left joy con does not work properly. I even bought a new one it doesnt go left or right. Dont know what to do ? Any help

hi ,do you mean the problem is - the blue joy con cannot be detected and charged when it connected to the console? however it can work normally before completed run of battery?

I bought a second-hand Switch a few months back and have always had issues playing in handheld mode. I bought new joycons in hopes that would fix things, which it didn't, but I tried your fix and so far things seem to be working so much better now. Thanks so much for posting this video!

Had the switch since xmas. Kids don’t even use it that much and this happens a lot. Along with not turning back on, controller drift etc etc. these things kinda suck.
