Modding a 6-pin header fan (Coolmoon, uphere etc)

Compré unos ventiladores chinos argb AR12 y son de 6 pines, ahora con éste video puedo adaptarlos y conectarlos, Gracias 🫂

I have 2 CPU cooler fans with 3+4pin adapters and 6 fans with 6pin adaptor. I was using 2 different argb kits that didn't sync well, and because of your video I'm able to convert 6pin into 3 + 2 pin, I used jumper male to female wires, and now all the fans are in 1 single coolmoon argb kit and syncing well. i had deepcool fc120 which is 6 pin rgb fan, but different pins out than normal 6 pin argb gan, from left it mark DI, - , - , + , S, P when i try use normal 6 pin rgb controller it won't work, and what is S and P stand for on the fan connector?

i just want to power my 240 mm fan. it has a 6 pin connector and i want to plug it into a 3 or 4 pin header on my mobo. i cut the 2 wires and connected them to an old fan connector and when i plugged it in it doesnt work. what did i do wrong?

The 6pin controller is more cheap than 3pin argb + 4pin PWM controller, it's because the 3+4 is have 4pin data in from motherboard, so the controller can automatic sent the data PWM to fan. It's right???

Excelente video y único que detalla bien los pasos, me funciono y pude convertir mis ventiladores de 6 pines y adaptarlos a una controlada argb de 3pines gracias a los esquemas mostrados y la explicación.

Would it work to use pins 1+4 instead of 1+2 of the fan PWM header in order to control the fan speed from the Mainboard?
Edit: Tested it on my coolmoon fan and it works like a charm. So PWM control is no problem.

My tip is do not try this unless you know what you are doing. Some proprietary devices have different 6 pin configuration.

Hi!! I have 10 fans installed in controller box but I'm still don't know how to connect into motherboard. I only can control fans speed and color modes from a remote control. So, which cable I have to connect in the controller box and then to the motherboard..... Because I really want to control fans from the motherboarnd and not only the remote control!!! Thanks!!

I have another problem, my CPU fan (gamma 500 RGB), it has 2 connectors a standard PWM that already connects without problem to the motherboard (RPMs and power OK) but also has a 4-pin RGB connector (12v, R, G, B) and my RGB controller is the common 6-pin (my motherboard is very old and has nothing with RGB). How could you solve this problem?
The fan works without problem but I have no RGB, in the worst case I would like to leave it fixed in red color.

Hii , I bought a 3pin fan, but the b450mk motherboard doesn't have 3pin, I want to convert it to USB because it's 5V, is this possible? I don't want to control RGB, I just want to turn it on automatically with just (+-) for USB, but it doesn't seem to work without (PIN data. In) short, how to install this fan without 3 PIN on my motherboard؟

As a bonus, a 3-pin fan connector will still fit onto a 4-pin header. Handy if you don't fancy butchering your 4-pin fans for them.
