Bro I need your opinion about this problem that I have 🙏 I recently bought the lg c2 and I watch the movies directly from the apps but when I use the hdmi inputs the brightness is less! (Dolby vision) I have the fire tv stick max and the movies shine less! even using the same image settings. The other is the game mode (HDR) that the image is bright at times and at another automatically lowers the brightness. I have both hdmi inputs in 4k and I turn off the energy saving. Do you think it's a problem with the tv or that loss of brightness that all c2 models have?

If I had to give what I saw a percentage, I'd say the C2 is 5% better than the C1, and won't be that noticeable without them side by side. At a certain point it just seems like nit picking. I appreciate the video though!

Struggling with 65" C1 or C2, coming from a Pioneer plasma purchased in 2009, these both look amazing but at 65" the C2 is about $500 more currently. Any reason not to grab the C1 instead? I game on ps5 and watch a few shows a week, nothing intense

Size matters, If the TV is smaller then the pixels will be a bit closer and make it sharper

Biggest reason to upgrade to the 42 inch is the pixel density. This is the one aspect of this TV that makes games look so much better. I had the C148 for a year and upgraded to the 42 inch and yes it is an improvement. I loved my C1 but this is definitely the way to go for PC and Console gaming.

Graphically do you feel the c2 is noticeably different? More specifically the c1 is 40 gbps whereas the c2 is 48gbps. Does the extra 8 gbps really make a huge difference graphically and performance wise? Some videos and articles don’t feel it’s worth the upgrade and also say the c2 has drawbacks the c1 doesn’t have. What’s you’re opinion on those statements?

@TueenTuo
@TueenTuo - 13.06.2022 12:18

The C1 looks better, sharper, and more natural; the color separation is better as well. I would even go as far as to say that the C1 is probably the best OLED television on the market. Even if the C1 is larger, the image appears "more detailed." The improvements this year are color volume/vibrancy and shadow detail over all else. I tend to prefer the more muted, subtle look of the C1, and the excessive vibrancy on the C2 tends to detract from the sharpness of the image, at least in my opinion. If the C2 looks at all sharper or as sharp as it does, then the smaller size certainly contributes, even when you get as small as 42" (depending on how close you are). Also, if the console is set to 1440p, then we are seeing just how similar the upscalers are, etcetera. If we're being honest, then we have to understand that the C2 got a little excessive with saturation this year, and it ended up being a detriment to the better contrast and depth that they had last year. If they are going to do OLED good, then they are going to have to do it properly and with balance without making concessions with other aspects of image quality. This may also display how the C1 looks sharper in 4k (even more) overall. The motion is close enough between the two, and the color gamut is nearly identical. In the end, we all have different opinions on what looks better, but it seems like they have taken a step back in a few areas this year, but yes, there is a mild boost in brightness and color volume. The image processing is ultimately the same, and if anything, I've noticed more depth/contrast on the C1. The Ai features have made mild improvements this year, but most people tend to avoid using the DTM and Ai Picture Pro when gaming to avoid input lag. In all, the C2 has made more improvements in terms of software, even if the Evo "Ex" panel is involved; this is mostly for burn-in protection. The "Ex" essentially means that the hardware has been unlocked to fit the better, albeit different panel technology. Ultimately, the differences are minor, and sometimes, concessions are made to prioritize other aspects of image quality. Other than that, they both look exactly the same, but that's just my silly opinion on the subject. If anything, I can detect a clear and unmitigated bias in this video that makes me think that someone is not being all that honest about their opinions or comparisons.

Also, if the console is set to 4k, then the television does not do the upscaling, even if the game is not native 4k. If you set the console to 1440p, the television will do the upscaling from there. The console does the "scaling" then, but it's mostly the game stretching out to the native resolution of the panel. (The screen will not have to be stretched out by the television.) I would always recommend to keep your console on 4k, as this stops the game from having to go through two different steps when upscaling the image (depending on the output resolution). This can cause input latency and other issues, and it often creates a worse looking image in the end, overall. Unless the upscaling technology is so much better on the television, you're better off setting the console to the native resolution of your television. This is always the case, as consoles typically have better upscaling tech than televisions. The difference is native-scaled vs upscaled at that point, even if the image is 1440p or higher. On such small 4k screens/displays, the difference in upscaling would be negligible and almost entirely useless. Even then, the upscaling on the C2 is only somewhat better when set to SD (480p) content and lower (bit-rate), which is what I have seen so far. If the C2's upscaling is better, then we would likely see this to some degree if the console were set to a lower resolution. They're both good, but the difference is only size and nits. Anyway, I'm just elaborating at this point, and maybe you're already aware of this. I wanted to share this anyway, at least for anyone who happens to not know. Not all televisions have upscalers, so this would end up causing a 1080p image to take up a quarter of the screen on a 4k television (when the console is set to a lower output resolution). This is only if the 4k television did not have, which most do. Other than that, other aspects of image quality come into play anyway. Anyway, apologies for the "blocks of text," but I wanted to share.

I don’t know if you can put on another video that would be so cool. another really awesome comparison. I would like to see would be the Sony. A80k vs lg c2 that would be pretty cool to see. 🙏

C1 48" just came down again to $899 and I can't make up my damn mind between it and a c2 42". I can grab it with 15% off from target, it was around $1230 when it was $50 off, but then Costco comes with the 5 year warranty ( not worried about lack of burn-in coverage ) and an Upsie warranty is $200. Then there is the size. Love the 48 for when watching movies, but gaming on PC could be harder even with 4 feet difference I plan to make. I like the lastest and greatest, and if I wait until black friday, maybe it goes on sale for $1200 MSRP. But then c3 around the corner... QD-Oled 48" next year? Anyway, good video dude. It def does help haha.

Just thinking if these improvements over C1 are worth to go with C2. Right now I am planning to buy an OLED TV (my first one). but at least here in Poland, C2 55' cost twice more than C1 55'. Of course, C2 is brand new, so maybe it's worth to rather wait couple of months instead of buying right now with existing price. Looking for advice :)
