The autographed photographs of Norman Thagard and Sally Ride sent to me as a keepsake are carefully kept at my home. Eternal memory of Sally Ride. 🙏To all other crew members, my best wishes from Russia!❤

There are some great stories about this mission in the book "Bold They Rise"

Another great documentary. Thanks.
I remember all the hype at the time surrounding Sally Ride's participation, and the brilliant images of Challenger taken from SPAS.
I noted two references from Hugh Harris (NASA Public Affairs Officer) early in the video of Norm Thagard as the 'the first medical doctor to fly in space'.
For the record, the first medical doctor in space was Boris Yegorov of the USSR aboard Voskhod 1 in 1964.
The first US doctor in space was Joe Kerwin aboard Skylab 2 in 1973.
Thagard was the first doctor to fly aboard the Shuttle.

At 2012, when I heard that Sally had passed away, I was saddened.
