Having a red-dot sight seems antithetical to wingshooting. The dot is where the gun is pointing "now", not where the bird (or clay) will be. Can you really "point at the lead" with the red-dot sight? Some explanation might help.

On a combat shotgun, that red-dot sight would almost be at the front sight position, ...or is that the point?
