listen to the music. not the gear. 😁
ОтветитьDefinitely the 300's will be my next set of Q Acoustics speakers!
ОтветитьExcellent review ! Detailed , honest and comprehensive . Well done !
Ответить@Jayiyagi Please grab a pair of Yamaha NX-N500 and review them. They are older but still amazing nearfield to farfield active network powered Monitors. Yamaha sound is amazing.
ОтветитьI wonder if Q Acoustic pair well with NAD C388 amp. I have been looking at deals recently with Monitor Audio SIlver 300, the NAD amp and free speaker cables, or maybe these as they have had such high praise sounding as good as speakers at £20000 or three times their price.
ОтветитьIt's Utter totally Impossible to Find a Bookshelf Speaker under 10,000 dollars, Can Not be done.. as a Millennial, I want what I want when I want it.. Sure, Millennialism is a vile mental disorder that transcends age groups... But I say no matter how stupid, do what makes you happy... Follow your dreams. and once I default on my student Loan , I going to spend a year in Cambodia. studying Pumkin Carving... Ten-thousand-dollar Bookshelves speakers or Die... !!
ОтветитьNo. 84dB SPL ain’t my cuppa.
ОтветитьWould love for someone to compare this speaker to the Monitor Audio Platinum 100.
ОтветитьHmmm, hard to beat the Alta Audio Alyssa me thinks…
ОтветитьThomas have Reviewed the 500 , now Jay proved it again about amp pairing is important to both Concept 300 and 500 speakers Thank You .
They both have Wow factors with the right amplifier.wallet hurts too deep !
Open baffle sound incredible and you can make your own top-notch set for 1k.
ОтветитьI started with home theater hobby. Great sound is way way way easier wit 5+ speakers versus 2-channels music. 2 years ago I watched movies 95% and music 5%. Today it's backwards 95% music and 5% movies... I can listen to the same song again way way way 10x more times than I can rewatch the same movie. Also my 150in screen needs the room to be dark whereas I can listen to movies during the bright day.
So I upgraded my front L and R speakers to the GoldenEar BRX (with ribbon tweeter) (I was searhing for short 12in tall bookspeakers). Wow, clear, live, airy, and adding the subwoofers did not cover up the treble/vocalists, the biggest soundstage.
I now hear so many vocalists taking in breaths before they sing (before I could only hear a few), I can hear things that are really low in volume and more instruments, different performers moving around on the stage when listening to broadway musical soundtracks.
The best bass at 40Hz. The speakers disappeared so I felt the singers in the room.
Elvis Presley's vibrato has never sounded so live until now.
source=Apple Music (hires lossless, and spatial audio surround music) and Denafrips Ares II 12th dac (R2R technology for 3D live/realistic sound).
Hi Jay, just wondering why you haven't reviewed any Focal speakers? Some are reasonably priced (K2 936 etc) and are pretty good. Just allows for more info/choices for people following you like I do.
Ответитьhave had concept 500 for a few years - well recommended, beautifully built and hard to beat for the price - can't wait to see how they update this.
ОтветитьKan ngomong pusing
ОтветитьJay could you review the Totem Fire v2?
ОтветитьDid you review the Pure Fidelity tirntable and I missed it?
ОтветитьI guess a true hifi enthusiast would build their own speakers.
Ответить@Jay's iyagi i just wonder why we still using stands for speakers. Why we just dont hang them on a rope?
ОтветитьInteresting! You are way more positive about the Concept 300 than Tarun from a British Audiophile.
Ответитьwhy do you talk like a monotone robot?
ОтветитьWould be interesting to know what the bad matches were just as a list. Also how does a 20w amp power these even in a small room. Would all 20w amps be able to power to same loudness and if not why not; always feels a bit like black magic. I have these speakers and currently a Sonos amp (to be upgraded) but going into shops and asking about speakers and saying I have the Sonos and then inquiring about ls50 metas they will say things like “that amp doesn’t have enough current for those” and I’m thinking they are 125w into 8 ohms, what are you talking about? Enough wattage but not enough current ?
ОтветитьYour arm must be tired.
Ответитьi am not sure for which type of audience you are aiming your podcast ...an average music lover can spend $300 on speakers max...
ОтветитьThe thing I like about those stands is the lack of extra surfaces to add reflections or "baffle" to the speaker
ОтветитьAfter dozens of speakers owned and demo'd from £1000 to £18000 i finally settled on some Concept 500's. Literally every box ticked. The standouts being the soundstaging... never known speakers disappear as such.... perfect tonality and amazing dynamics.... ease of placement and drive with single ended triodes.... build quality and finish, perhaps the best version of black gloss ive ever witnessed in the history of black gloss!
ОтветитьHuge, huge fan here...Is this combo ( Brunoco, Concept 300's ) better than the Gato Mono blocks and the Dynaudio Heritage? Which one do you prefer? best regards from Tehran...
ОтветитьQuad 64 can find for 1-1,5k€>
Ответить😢I prefer electrostatics Quad.
ОтветитьQuite the contrary, it is very easy to complain about the price tag for a speaker.
ОтветитьThanks Jay! Looking to change my speakers - currently have Focal 1008 Be's - and was looking at the TAD's, but for $7500 less you certainly got my attention with your review for the Concept 300''s! You didn't mention any pairings with Class D amps - either because you don't like them or you used one but it didn't match well. I currently have a Peachtreee Nova 500. Do I need to sell that too and go with the Brunoco?
ОтветитьIn this hobby, there is no such thing as end game, lol.
ОтветитьFor 5K just get a banger of an amp, dac and pre amp and a good set of towers. Beyond that one's just paying for aesthetics
ОтветитьThe first Roksan Darius Speakers had spring tension loaded tweeters!
ОтветитьI would love to know if the Wiisenton R8 or 800i would pair well with these speakers. I know you are very familiar with them and Jay. Do you think they would get along?
ОтветитьYeah, now I want a pair. Thank you for reviewing the Concept 300's! You had me at "not your low rumble in your room that would startle your cat kind of bass" 😂
ОтветитьDid you ever try the Atohm GT-1 HD? It sells in Europe for €2700 pp and it knocked me of the chair when I heard them for the first time in 2011. I played with Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage, which sounds amazing, but they cost an arm and a leg. But the Atohm GT-1HD came pretty close to the SF Guarneri. If I didn't have the Guarneri's already, I gladly would be very happy and satisfied with the Atohm.
ОтветитьYou mentioned you planned to review the platimon speakers in another video. Is that still the case? If so, do you know when?
ОтветитьI have the Concept 500s and they are absolutely amazing. One thing worth mentioning, Q Acoustics is a UK company, but the Concept 300/500 are entirely engineered in Germany by Fink Audio Labs. ❤ To my mind their housing is revolutionary.
ОтветитьHey Jay, can you do a review on Edifier's Airpulse A300 pro? Thanks
ОтветитьYou said the measurements you show are anechoic. Really?
ОтветитьI am ok with Paradigm
ОтветитьJay Really appreciate you reviewing these speakers that are priced closer to my budget vs your pricy favorites. Thank you On another note where does CSS Bookshelf and Buckhardt fit in performance and price wise??? Finally the floorstanders by Avendal how does there sound measure up overall in your opinion Great work Sir
ОтветитьGreat review I really enjoyed it! It has me seriously thinking of selling my current vintage setup of MTR101 MONOBLOCKS, a MFA MAGUS tube preamplifier and my BOZAK speakers. Would I still need my Merason DAC which I like a lot?
ОтветитьI prefer Dynaudio!
ОтветитьWhy doesn’t anyone review the Pro Acs? After over 35 years in high-end audio these are at the top of my list - especially the bookshelf 2 way. The Response DB 1 for example.
ОтветитьTannoy❤🤣🤣🤣🤣
