Thanks for this tutorial. My old pressing ham (it was my mother's before it became mine) split open beyond repair and I haven't been able to find the extra in our budget to replace it. Now, with your clever pattern, I can DIY myself a new one for a fraction of the cost.
ОтветитьThanks for this 👍😁
Ответить❤❤❤
ОтветитьSimple and straightforward. Thank you!
ОтветитьMaravilhoso, gostei muito.👏👏👏👏👏👏❤🌼👍
Ответить"Cats are not required - could someone please tell them that?" LOL, subbed. Plus you sound like a local (I'm in Enfield, you sound distinctly like my people. :) )
ОтветитьThank You Claire,Just What I was looking for ,An asked for Christmas gift for my daughter -inlaw you make it look so easy.
ОтветитьI have a quick question I know that I am over a year late but do you have to use wool for the bottom ... I have only cotton fabric due to my mother being allergic to wool.
ОтветитьUsing a large funnel (like to fill jars of marmalade) to fill the cushion will help avoid the mess.
ОтветитьThank you. Just made my ham from your instructions. Lovely and clear and simple to do.. Agree bit messy but it was lovely sitting stuffing my ham in the garden in the sunshine.
ОтветитьThank you for the tutorial...The best I've ever seen ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьThank you so much for this tutorial. I ran off to the shops for hamster bedding & made myself one. I added a little lavender essential oil to the sawdust, so I can get wafts of lavender as I press those darts/ curved seams.
ОтветитьI am in desperate need of the Tailor's Ham, am ready with sawdust and materials but the question lingers... what if the seams burst? Would it be okay if I sew a lining and an outter fabric? How would the wool side behave if there would be cotton lining underneath?
ОтветитьHere's an idea for filling it..... Use a canning funnel :) Works great :)
ОтветитьFred heard you say ham...
ОтветитьYay! I bought some pet sawdust so now I can start !
ОтветитьI woke up thinking ‘what’s that thing called you use to press armhole sleeves?’ Then I found your terrific tutorial and pattern. I don’t think we have hamster sawdust where I live in Spain, or even hamsters, but I’ll look in the pet superstore today. My cat Sara helps me in my sewing room too, passing me the pins, unthreading the cotton etc. Thanks Claire, happy sewing everyone!
ОтветитьThanks so much, Claire! I've been wanting/needing a tailor's ham for a while now. Thank you for the free pattern and sewing instructions!
ОтветитьLove this demo! A wide mouth funnel for canning and a big bowl would be helpful with this worthy project.3>
ОтветитьPlace a rolled up magazine in the ham . It will unroll and become a large funnel. Much easier, learned from another crafter. Thanks
ОтветитьThanks for your tutorial. Super easy and very informative. Now to see if I have a piece of wool.
ОтветитьThis was so well explained and clear! Thanks so much!
ОтветитьExcellent. Thank you.....!!
ОтветитьThanks for this tutorial, I’ve been wanting to make one for ages 👏x
ОтветитьI picked up some wool scraps and have been wondering what I was going to do with it but the wool is so pretty and now I know! I’ll have to go get some wood shavings soon!
Thanks so much for showing us how to do this!
I bought one as I was convinced I wouldn’t be able to get it stuffed and it’s awful and saggy within a couple of uses . You’ve inspired me to give it a go
ОтветитьBrilliant thanks
Ответитьi have a second-hand ham but in case that one ever busts, ill know how to make a new one!
ОтветитьThanks my dear for this tutorial, I always wanted to know how to make one. I may have to use something else for stuffing. But it turned out very good.
ОтветитьThanks Claire. Been wanting to make one, but couldn't get my head around drafting the pattern or what the heck to put in it. Beauty, well done xx
ОтветитьI want the top you are wearing in this video. If you made it, where can i get the pattern, please? (I'll make it and the ham this month 🙂)
ОтветитьGirlfriend you get the crown; I'm going to save money making this, Thank You. 😊
ОтветитьExcellent tutorial Clair. This will be so use full to so many people, including me.Thank you for sharing this.hugs xxJean.
ОтветитьMy homemade hams are stuffed with wood pellet cat litter or equine horse bedding pellets. They turn to sawdust when damp so you can steam and stuff to capacity for a firmer ham.
ОтветитьI never thought a person could make their own ham. You made it look so easy. Might just give it a try!
ОтветитьLoved it. Thank you.
ОтветитьThanks, Claire! To avoid some of the mess, hold the empty cover in a bowl with a jam funnel pushed into the opening. Hold securely whilst putting the saw dust into the cover. Keep pushing it down firmly as you go. Any mess is contained in the bowl. Your pattern is a lovely shape!
Ответитьwow nice and easy thankyou
ОтветитьI used old magazines in an old sock for my sleeve ham, worked a charm for years
ОтветитьThis was so cool! Thank you! May I ask, did you cut your wool piece on the bias?
ОтветитьThank you,one more thing to add to the list,😁
ОтветитьMaybe fill a piping bag with the sawdust to help with the filling - great tutorial. :-)
ОтветитьExcellent of to the pet shop lol
ОтветитьThank you for this demo, you've made it so simple! ❤️
ОтветитьGreat idea! We made these in my high school advanced clothing class 45(😬) years ago. I still use it in my alterations shop. That second stitching is the reason they can last forever! I enjoy your charming videos!
ОтветитьThis is the easiest tutorial I’ve seen, thank you. Does it have to be wool? as I don’t have any wool fabric scraps. 🧶🌈🍓
ОтветитьHi Claire- thanks for this lovely tutorial. This is exactly how I made mine a couple of years ago. I got a wool scarf from the charity shop and an old pillowcase. Worth leaving it to settle for a day and packing some more into the ham. Great idea about the spoon. I use my ham all of the time 🤓🏴. p.s. I gave the remaining stuffing to my friend who has a rabbit 🐇
ОтветитьAwesome tutorial! Thanks so much!
ОтветитьTerrific video!! Thanks!!
