Hi, were did u get the corse filter sponge from
ОтветитьHow long will the air stone last ? How do you service it ?
ОтветитьSugary milk is the best
ОтветитьAre these fine for a 5 gallon betta tank? What size air pump? Thanks!
ОтветитьI have a canister filter also. I have the spray attached to one side of my tank on the width side and the output on the other side on the length side. Where should I place my sponge filter?
ОтветитьWhat about making one with a green sponge?
ОтветитьThis is a great example of why I decided to subscribe - So many great videos with the best everyday aquarium advice available. Thanks for keeping it REAL!
ОтветитьCan I shorten the green tube ? I have a 5gal bowl and thought shortening the green tube would increase the oxygen inside the tank. Anybody have advice???
ОтветитьI wish they sold fine foam sponges, baby dwarf shrimp can't handle the bigger pores
ОтветитьBig fan of sponge filter especially in a planted tank. Thx ...great video.
ОтветитьYou only get the "glug glug glug" without the airstone because you don't have a disperser in your filter, which nearly all sponge filters have.
ОтветитьGreat video!
Ответить"glug glug glug glug" is my new ringtone. 😂
ОтветитьCaptain Insano probably uses a Hakko linear pond air pump with his sponge filter.
ОтветитьCorey, thank you x infinity... now i can enjoy my sponge filters without sounding like a chemical lab HAHAHA brilliant info thank you ^_^
ОтветитьCory. I love your sponge filters. But could you please make one for us shrimp lovers. A fine sponge option. I put nylon over the one that I got from you for my shrimp tank. Anyway thanks for all the great videos
ОтветитьWhy not a green Sponge?
ОтветитьI just got a Hygger from Amazon after seeing a video about one that someone designed that is smaller and suctions to the glass. I accidently bought a huge one, shoulda just bought theirs instead of going to amazon. But anyway, yours looks really really cool. Do they come in smaller sizes? I'm really into learning how to aquascape and am trying to self teach how to scape around my tech without it being to easy to cause too much chaos to my ecosystem every time I want to do maintenance. The one I have from Hygger is a 55gallon (in a 10gallon >.>) and the sponges are HUGE but I can also remove them really easily without interrupting everything. Do you have any experience using yours in a more heavily decorated tank and how did that go for you? Also do you have any air pump recommendations? I've got a small cheap one that's working really well so far but sometimes it feels like it just doesn't have enough juice. And I don't want to spend a ton of money on something that isn't gonna do the job. It covers up to 200 gallons allegedly and it's working great so far but if I want to use more air type tech in my tank like messing around with various sponge filters and airstones and the like.
ОтветитьIf someone is using a jet engine to power this... There are underlying problems, I believe. XD
ОтветитьHey Cory, where did you get that two volcano in the back. It look like a really nice disguise for the sponge filter
ОтветитьSponge filters are very basic these do work good. I covered my sponge with black nylons. Only reason beings because it's in a shrimp tank. Actually polishes the water quicker.
ОтветитьI would prefer if these were black… but that’s a personal opinion… like the black tubing…
ОтветитьWow.. this is super helpful! — I’m trying to run a small sponge filter in a shallow tank (I have no critters yet — only plants)… and the options and explanations you have shown and made are simply the best..l can now experiment and see what the best solution will be… thanks for the positivity.. you rock!
ОтветитьFine sponge is just as good as course sponge as long as you keep them clean every week? I bought a set of 2 enormous corner sponge filters. Is it optimal to not have it resting on the glass at all since its in the corner? Should it still be away from obstacles? It came with air stones but it does have the big bubbles.
Ответитьi didnt know Ryan Reynolds had fish
ОтветитьIs it good to have a air stone in sponge filter for beta tank or would it be better without a air stone for less surface agitation
Dose an air stone cause more surface agitation
After how long my beneficial bacteria will die if i tuned off the air pump "sponge filter"?
ОтветитьI'm curious would a sponge filter be a good alternative to just a normal air stone added to a 55 gal freshwater tank. Starting a new tank and it has a HOB filter from top fin.
ОтветитьWhat kind of fish is THAT?!?!
ОтветитьWhat a great idea with the bag!
ОтветитьDoes the nano size sponge fit an air stone as well or should I do a small? It’s for a 5 gal Betta tank.
TIA anyone who can answer :)
I know it can be a preference but I have a question. Which do you think might be better for a 125gl reef tank.
I will take comments from anyone.
Thanks in advance!
God Bless !!!
Jesus is the Way , the Truth and the Life !!!
GREAT video, answered the questions I had today!
ОтветитьThanks so much Cory, you are brilliant..I installed mine as you said..and it’s working great..you are da Man😁👍🏼
ОтветитьThank you... well presented!@
Ответитьyour explanation is absolutly correct..good job bro
ОтветитьAwesome channel. Just wondering if you have a video on rocks in an aquarium. I have quartz and iron ore in my tank and I am not sure if they are ok. Thank you. Great work
ОтветитьI like to use hard tubing for connecting the air stone, nomatter how long I go,it's always well centered
ОтветитьWhatever I do, bubbles still leak out from top of sponge. The length of tubing is as short as can be. One of the cons of a coarse sponge.
ОтветитьI received my order the other day. I set-up my filters the way you showed, and I uninstalled the 2 penguin power heads I was using. What a difference in the noise level for sure, and I don't have to turn up the sound on the TV anymore. I think my 6 Discus, 8 Clown Loaches and 50 Green Neons like the less turbulent water, and seam to be more active as well. Thanks for my order Aquarium Co-op!! I will be back.
ОтветитьHey Cory, yes the air pump is blowing air but how is the filter sucking anything up? It needs to filter the water right? So if it's not sucking any water up how does it filter the water?
ОтветитьHow many gallons is that monster behind you?
ОтветитьLove how many rummy nose tetras you have in that tank
ОтветитьRummy nose are my favorite fish can’t get them anywhere they say they can’t keep them alive but aquarium they do just fine . Just wish I could find more
ОтветитьHow are you Turning the air flow up and down?? I have an aquatop and idk if mine does this 🤔
Ответитьuh. most of all gas exchange happens on the surface. "two bubbles colliding in the water" doesnt do much for gas exchange. I think you should google it. Its when the bubbles pop on the top of the water that gas exchange takes place.
ОтветитьHi! Thanks for the video. I'm a new betta fish owner thanks to my little sister who irresponsibly bought one and isn't taking proper care of it. So, I have a question. Considering the ph of my water is within range and that I use a heavy metal and chlorine remover on my tap water, is this filter enough to make the water safe for the betta? Or do I need something in addition to make the water suitable.
ОтветитьJust went to your website and bought this sponge filter! I love all your videos, straight to the point and informative. Please keep making more videos!
