Matt, I knew you only briefly. We met in Runescape, of all places, but your real passion was Mass Effect. You kept telling me about it, and I kept feigning interest. I wanted to be interested - and would often promise to play the game but never did, not even to this day. I could feel how passionate you were for that world, and I had never felt such passion.

I wanted to become a part of your life. You stimulated my mind and broke my narcissistic teenage shell. I thought that I was on top of the world, the smartest to have ever been, but when you appeared I felt the gap between us and realized how inadequate I was. I fell in love with you. My sense of self disappeared in our conversations.

I stopped being myself and became co-dependent. That didn't last long. You rightly moved along after I had crossed your boundaries and had become a yes-man.

I have learned many things about myself since then, and will never forget the impact you had on me. I grew up with deaf parents but you introduced me to Hybrid and ultimately music itself.

Whenever I hear this song I get transported back to the first time I felt real love. I've always thought of myself as straight, but without ever having seen your face, or really even truly known you, I fell in love with you. That opened up something within me which hasn't been closed over a decade later.

Thank you Matt. If you ever read this, and remember that one self-centred Icelandic guy, just know that you've produced ripples that echo still. I'm lucky to have talked to you at all.

This song is pretty cool, the funniest thing I've noticed about this song is that it would fit so well on Sky Digital's TV Guide back when it used to have music and it sounds quite similar.
