Joel .. thank you for your words of encouragement at the end. I have been learning Portuguese for 4 years now and just feel I am at the point I am reasonably confident and to some extent fluent. I got there by constantly throwing myself in the deep end . It can feel demoralizing at times and I still have embarrassing moments. But your words served to remind me it is worth the effort.
