There is no perfect in Africa or anywhere else but heaven. It's 105 degrees here today, and this is not the hottest day. I don't go out in the summer at all. Just learned there is a thing called heat exhaustion. I'm out at least 9 months out of the year. I hate hot weather and prefer the cold.

Sorry to see you go. Yes, Joburg can get cold for three weeks a year. For the rest, it probably has the best climate of any major city in the world. Summers are perfect - not too hot and humid. I'm a Joburg-born-and-bred South African now living in Texas. Climate and weather-wise north Texas is a real challenge.
