Holy smokes this scene is still crazy after all these years when I was a kid I was like dang. But as an older person I look at the scene as Peter not being angry at himself for the death of his uncle and forgiving himself in a way. During his time of wearing the black suit, Peter was angry at himself an unleashing that on his loved ones. He felt very guilty about it and in a way Peter was fighting himself

It's crazy how many demonic possession parallels are in this scene and the overall character of Venom, Spider-Man is trying to rid this evil entity that's attached to him like a demon and of all places where is it happening? Inside a church, and also the church bell was the reason he managed to get Venom off of him cause the sound of the bell weakened him, this scene is like a exorcism
