How Many Complications Can You Get For $52?!

So they're calling this Longines movement Caliber L687.2, Longines version of the ETA 7751. There are quite a few watches with this movement. All the same eyes, noise, and mouth, just a different pretty face. So, what is the Chinese version of the ETA 7751.

I think, most people don't realize the real problem with these cheap watches. They think that the weak point of these items is poor quality, but they actually like their incredibly low price. And that's where they make a mistake! They buy the watch because of its low price then they become dissatisfied with it and eventually get rid of it. Why does that happen? Because people get tricked by their own greediness. They go for the cheap watch because of its fantastic price, they may even buy another one, and yet another one, not realising that the easy accessibility of these watches and their very low price devalues the bought item in their (and others') eyes. That devaluation grows in their mind until they eventually get sick of the watch they once desired so much, and they decide to get rid of it. If it were a rare item, or if they had to pay a lot of money for it, they would consider the purchase much more carefully, they would treasure their acquisition, and they would consider it a valuable watch.
One might argue that these watches contain simpler solutions and are objectively of a lesser quality than their western counterparts, which is obviously true, but then, those who complain will happily buy non-functioning, worn-out, even lesser quality watches from the 50's or 60's just because of their rarity or special interest, just to enrich their collection.

I just got a Denvosi automatic triple calendar off Temu for $46. After wearing it for five days, it has only gained 2 seconds. I'm curious if anyone else has one and is theirs just as accurate. Update: After 7 days, it is only 1 second fast.

Longine made a replica of this Guanqin, however with a Swiss price tag.

You can always tell a cheaply made watch or foreign watch by its terribly sized proportions like the hand looking to small for the dial, or the watches thickness is so thick like this one, or its way to heavy, but it is a really pretty convincing watch though...

This watch, on a new strap, actually looks decent. I recommend it. Stay away from the HydroConquest though.

How big is the power reserve?

I have a similar watch to this. A "Derbet" with same complications but different dial style. Got it for $48 in 2017. Just picked it up for the first time in a couple years and it started ticking right away with a couple wrist flicks.

people who created the original, as well as the oppressed people who make the copy.
It doen't deserve to be glorified just because one can pay a few dollars less out of our

Love the fact it only lasts for 6 years as per the year complication. Probably the only accuracy of this watch.

that's a piece of junk compared to the real Longines master collection moon phase. I bought the real watch and it's fantastic. You do get what you pay for. What's that Chinese crap movement in that thing? Come on. You get the swiss valjoux 7751, and nicely decorated on the Longines. What is that sun that is supposed to pass for a moonphase...? dogshit, that's what. I'll bet its at least 45 seconds off or more per day. And, that dumb year 2018 in the date aperture? It should be the Day of the week. How can you push that crap?

If I haven't already left a comment on this, you're a bloomin nuisance Jody. Since I first watched and liked I've got two of the (insert profanity here) things. I bought a black one because I had one of the white, allegedly tourbillon, watches. Not being able to read that one with old man eyesight (also in black, the Longines has different numerals), the OCD in me had to get the white one which is the most like the real deal as far as I know. Now I can't get the bracelet off the one to the other. The Bergeon is on order. That's your fault as well. I shall shortly be offloading a black one for someone who's eyesight is better than mine. At least I know what I'm doing with it thanks to your video, though being somewhat out of pocket. I call it the Guangines. I had hoped it would catch on like Casioak but no joy so far. Someone will have been there before. Silly minds often think alike. 🖖

I can't support a knockoff for 52 or 5.2 dollars. A knockoff is a knockoff. It's not about the money. It's the mindset that it's ok to do so. It seems to me that this channel subtly promotes quite a lot of this kind of watches. (Along with other good videos.) But this one is one too many.

I don't understand the whole year complication becoming redundant. What happens when you get to the end and the watch still works fine? Can you get a replacement part for that complication with new years on?

Take a look at Cheetah brand Chinese watches. Really nice for about $40.

This is hilarious, a bunch of randomly actuated useless dials designed to mimic the complications of a moonphase calendar cronograph.

The rest of the world really needs to crack down on China knock offs that steal other people's IP. Should apply a huge tariff just as a matter of principle since the CCP doesn't stop theft, they encourage it and demand it.

I get a bit too obsessed with the glass in a watch, especially these chinese specials. I picked one up before watching this video and it claimed to be sapphire glass on AliExpress, so quite disappointed that it’s not. I’m hoping Starking haven’t lied about their specs because that one should be landing any day now!

Aliexpress changed their live CHAT now option. If you have any issues, you are on your own. I lost 57 dollars due to lost package and Aliexpress does not respond. I don't recommend buying from any merchant that lacks customer service. You are throwing your money away. Buy from known suppliers. Ditch Aliexpress. Beware.

So why pay for the longines version then. For a watch to be that complicated and priced that cheap says a lot about the luxury watch industry. And I question the true value of these watches
