Jokes aside, the revelation of Gomu no Mi's truth is one of the biggest bombshells ever in anime history.
Literally a thousand episodes passed before the author reveals that the MC, by sheer dumb luck, consumed a fruit with the most feared power in the world.

But i don't understand how shanks and his crew got it in the first place while it always gets away from the world government

The fact shanks thought it was the gomu gomu no mi when in reality it was the most powerful fruit the hito hito no mi model nika which is the sun god and sun god has rubber powers

I have to say his Nika form is perfect, it embodies Luffy so incredibly well. The rubber man who has been goofy as hell from the very first episode turns into essentially Jim Carrey's The Mask.

Since they explain that this zoan fruit's ability limited to the user imagination, i thought they intentionally rename the fruit to gum-gum fruit so that not many people would be interested in a devil fruit that is arguably gives a rather weak ability and even if some random person eats this fruit it wont be a very big deal since the person who eats it would believe he/she possess the properties of both rubber and gum until they die without knowing its true power. And i thought that was also the case for luffy as well but after rewatching this scene i notice that he immediately possess the properties of both rubber and gum even though he has no knowledge that the devil fruit he eats is gum-gum fruit and only after he shows that rubber like ability then shanks explain it to him that the fruit is a gum-gum fruit. So i am a bit confused?
