My mom taught me to always get an extra box of baking soda, tear off top, stick in refrigerator and change once a month. Cheap and easy way to eliminate all refrigerator stink.

It's called a gasket, not a "band". And a box of baking soda works, will last longer, meaning it's cheaper and is more tidy.

My family would puke if they saw toilet paper in the fridge especially after it has dried from the liquid being poured on it - they will think I used it and decided to put in the crisper!

Your instructions are too wordy, go by too quickly and often are white lettering on a white background so you can’t read them. White lettering outlined in black can always be read on any background and if you’re going to write out so much then you gotta leave it up long enough to read.

Please explain the science behind heating the seal to stop a leak.

No need for toilet paper, just put the powdered baking soda in a small dish and keep it in the fridge, it will soak up any bad smells for weeks.
