When I lived in the UK, I once had a hilarious convo. with a French call-centre worker. The trouble began when he asked me my last name. He couldn't get it (and I get that, to a French-speaker, Hughes, just sounds like somebody sighing, or maybe sneezing). So I spelled it. Then I spelled it using the French alphabet - but then he couldn't quite believe it how it was pronounced ... we both laughed.

We had a French teacher teach us French in school, and sometimes he had to speak in English to make us learn new words. And it's needless to say that most people didn't understand what he spoke half the time. This video was very funny, and reminded me of him. Almost all French people sound the same when they speak English. 😂
