This is exactly how I got my OBS setup however ran into an issue where now I got my "Audio Scene" with 103 Sources (any suggestions?)

What if your streaming on a Macbook?

When I use the automatic setup I just get the error "could not find specified path" and it does not give me an option to manually set the file path. I attempted to find the correct locations for the files myself but Im unable to get it to work. Any ideas?

For some reason adding my mic doesn't work properly it doesn't get recorded once i am in a discord call with people but once i leave the discord call audio from my microphone gets picked up instantly. Is there any work around for this w/o using the voicemeeter?

I would think this would be simple, but no one has covered it. How do I capture browser source soundalerts like soundalerts, streamelements, etc...? Do they use the OBS default or the device selected as desktop audio? If so, we disable that when using virtual cables and audio captures. Maybe I am over thinking this...

i had a problem where the Application Audio Output Capture option wouldnt appear and fixed it by updating OBS.... i had 27.x.x and updated to 29.0.0 and it shows up now

So would I do the same for adding a mic?

question for you Michael, have you figured out a way to add a source to all your videos semiannually? Take this video for example you added a music, discord and browser output but those outputs are only for this scene. I know you could add everything to a group and then add that group to ever scene; scene by scene, but have you figured out a better way? I'm using the downstream keyer and made a blank scene that includes all my stream alerts, & audio tracks separated like you did but then I have to make sure I turn on that scene in the keyer. Do you know a better way. I know you know a LOT!

All of your examples worked perfectly. The one I am having trouble with is adding alert sounds. There is nothing in the drop down for them. Anybody want to chime in?

Great channel! Thanks so much! So much information. I'm still struggling to get reaper audio into a scene to record in OBS. Do you perhaps have any vids out for this? I've tried this win capture and it's not picking up desktop. And I believe there's a reroute vst that needs to be used in reaper?

How are you supposed to capture your mic?

Would you recommend doing audio spitting this way or if you are more advanced to use Voicemeeter, I've personally setup all my applications with different virtual audio devices but this seems way less complicated. Is there any pros and cons to use one or the other? The only Pro I can think of for me at least, is if I'm Streaming on Discord or another applications that doesn't support audio splitting I can manually remove unwanted audio sources from the stream using Voicemeeter..

Omg thank you! I spent forever looking for something like this! I just wanted to stream and listen to music without having the music be super loud on the stream and this worked. Every other video I saw explaining how to use the plugin was complicated and I didn't understand why they were doing what they did but this actually broke it down well.

What do I do if an application doesn't show up in application audio output capture's active sessions?
Do I have to mess with settings in said application to allow it to show up?
Edit: Nevermind, I had to have audio coming from the application while adding it for it to show up. Great tutorial!

Very cool video! I wasn't able to get it working with audio from Ableton Live however. The window shows up in the drop down menu as a audio capture source but no audio comes into OBS. Hopefully I'll get it working! Thanks!
