When my son was 3, I got a call from his preschool telling me that he had put a rock in his ear. I rushed over and took him to urgent care. Thankfully, the doctor was able to get it out on the first try. My son laughed when the doctor showed him the device he was going to use and said it looked like an alligator. Thankfully, the rock wasn’t in too far, but I got scared thinking about how lucky we were that he hadn’t pushed it further into his ear.

How and why did that wool come there in the first place?

Why would someone stick a q-tips that deep inside its ear? I wonder how they wipe their ass?

I was very relieved to see the plug come out without causing any trauma. Like you said, some abrasion to the ear canal, but that is to be expected when the cotton wool had gotten so dense.

When i was 6 my mom removed a cotton bud from my ear and it felt so good after that i kept getting the cotton of a cotton bud and stuff it not to deep in my ear and then take it out🫡🫡🫡🫡

Do all audiologists remove ear wax?

I think the hair also hinders it as it was clamped along with the cotton. But also the cotton is fully lodged to the skin as well

I don’t even understand how someone manages to get cotton stuck in their ears, even with a poorly made qtip. Like can they not feel what they’re doing? Do they lack the tactile and spacial awareness to coordinate cleaning their own ears effectively? Like, are they just a special kind of special needs, or what?!

I just stumbled upon your channel and this was both horrible and satisfying to observe. I work for a medical supply company and my dept specializes in hearing aids and related supplies/services. When I was a kid, I used a q-tip that was too big and you could tell it wasn't going to stay on the stick. It got stuck in my ear. Since I didn't want to get in trouble, I hid it for a year. We went to go stay with my dad and stepmom one summer and she cleans ears with bobby pins which is how she found a small piece of cotton stuck in my ear. They took me to the hospital and when the pulled out the big cotton bud, it had blood all around it. I honestly don't remember if it messed with my hearing or anything. I think I was about 10 when it happened.

This reminds me of last summer when a giant moth climbed in my ear canal and buried itself against my ear drum, the drum was scratched by the ER dr, and now I have hearing loss because of that. and i still had to wait a week for an ENT to pull the moth out of my ear!!!

My don had to put cottonwood in his ears if he went swimming as he had grommets in both ears, but that was covered with vasoline and they always came out, maybe to much compaction there.
