In france we call them cane corso with long snout or cane corso with short snout, that's all. Yes there is some differences other than the snout but 2 purebred short snout can have long snouts, my dog is the proof. His parents are LoF and the number 1 couple of cane corso here, and he's a long snout and liner than his brothers.

Found out my cane corso I purchased last November as a pup has a decent amount of presa canario. I got suspicious as she grew. Then someone we know who had a different pup from the same litter had theirs tested.

I don’t know which one is my female pup. I got 8 gen pedigree . National Champions and grand champions in pedigree. But she’s tall , big and gracious like a deer when she runs . I also have xl bully 150 lbs male but my corso pup turned him into her b—-h . He reminds of of rhinoceros . When they both run side by side it’s the funniest thing ever. Her few jumps is 100 of his steps. She is like an antelope and he’s like a t34 tank 😂

The top cane corso is from pure Italian mastiff family.. the bottom 1 is an ugly mix of probably boxer or Great Danes. because that’s what some of these American breeders are doing. And messing up good genes! I have 1 from Italy and she’s a beast! the original cane corso are big bodied dogs. Just like all European compound guard dogs they breed. the Euro dobbie are huge the American dobbie skinny and weak looking. the German gsd big strong look like a wolf. The German rotts big and strong their heads and bodies are massive. I do not buy American dogs I rather get them imported!

I wonder if cropping the ears and tail as a pup will have any effect on how they grow. Every time i see the big, beefy corso they're cropped. Every time i see the slender, tall, agile corso, they have their tail and ears.

This is nonsense. The Cane Corso is and has always been a mixed dog. If you look into the history of the breed beyond videos like this you will quickly find that what I’m saying is true. They were working dogs, not fru fru inbred dogs.

This is factually untrue. There was a study done in 2017 comparing the DNA of American Corso and Italian corso and they found that the American dogs were so significantly different that they could not be considered the same breed. The American dogs were basically a bandogge made of Rottweilers and Neapolitan mastiffs and other breeds. The Americans use marketing terms like traditional to try to make excuses for why their dogs don't look like the dogs being bred in Europe. The ONLY place these "traditional" dogs exist is in America. It's American arrogance, and it's embarrassing for those of us who are actually trying to preserve this historic breed.
