Why are the tandems slid all the way fwd, and how many companies actually have 48 ft trailers. Why not train for the real world? 40 yrs driving, current CDL instructor.

If you need any get outs or pull ups to alley dock then you suck and need do something besides drive a truck

Do you have a step by step for beginners?

"Instructors/trainers" at companies are asshole that think you as a trainee/new driver are supposed to know everything already, are sarcasstic , talk to you as if you were a child . And even they make HUGE mistakes and NO NO'S.

Lol all the pretrip tests you never have to memorize again, use all the pamphlets and materials. The backing, as many pull ups etc as you need. Only for the test is all this unnecessary stress a thing 😂😂

These "exams" stress me out.

This is not on dmv test because ally dock is something you learn outside of school and takes lots of practice

It's insane how people can drive these things, and then there's people who can't even park a sedan properly.

The alley dock could be so much easier if you set the truck and trailer 45 degrees so you don’t have to jack it in there

So who thought it was a good idea to put "get out and look stickers on the mirrors and emphasize getting out to look in the book but while testing we only get 2 get outs

I remember watching your video 5 years ago , during that time i was also in trucking school , this video helped me out alot , i passed on my first try been driving ever since, i now work for for reyes coca cola transport department and all i do is drive to other coca cola facilities and just drop and hook, easy money 💰

I’m taking my test in a dump truck and pintle hook trailer and this maneuver got me on my first test. Hopefully I can pass it the second time around.

It’s not that big of a deal. People made it such a great thing and something to fear for no reason. There’s one thing about North America, people exaggerate things too much and people give up too fast. I learned this in 3 days and then kept improving. By the the end of first month I could back up in almost any kind of spot. It is easy as fuck. These explanation videos make it look like something great, don’t know why though.

On average trucks is it stick or automatic?

My instructor at my school won't let you use either of the 2 free pull ups we get on the test, why? I have no ideA

And you're failing to teach him the first thing about handling a trailer sliding the tandems all the way back to nail a tight hole the 10-ft off track of the rear end the arc radius is huge in that parking lot in the real world 70% of the space he's showing wouldn't be there and tomorrow off the 10-foot space in front of another vehicle so when you swing your tantam around you don't tear off the front end just go out and place your soda can as a physical marker

I got a question the people who testing us they're drive in the road ? Or they're just applied the regulations for the test but never be in the road with real weight in the back and real situations in the road like winter weather or somethings like that 🤔

Next up, how to maintain 20 mph below the speed limit in the passing lane for 10 miles

if i couldve executed this manuever i would have my cdl but i have no regrets

Back in 1985 I went to driving school and yes one of the skills that we learned was how to back the trucks into different situations and I didn't have any problem with it àt all cuz I had been learning from the time I was just 12 years old riding cross country with my mom's boyfriend and he taught me a lot of things and the first day that we were in the backing field we had some pretty ancient equipment to work with and the first thing that they were going to teach us was to back this old GMC tractor and trailer straight back between these orange cones and first thing our instructor asked was who can tell me what GMC doesn't stand for n tried was the first one to speak up and I told him that it doesn't stand for great mountain climbers so guess who got to go first that's right me but I wasn't worried about it he said to get in and put it in reverse and to slowly back up between the cones and first thing I do is to not only put it in reverse but on the high side and release the brakes and just stomp down on the pedal and going backwards as fast as I can and he starts yelling at me to stop and I do put the brakes on and get out and explain to him that I have been doing this most of my life and he asked me what the hell am I doing here in school instead of already out there driving for a living and I told that I needed to get my license for driving a truck and where we were at was the easiest place for me to get one

Yeah good luck parking like that anywhere. Where I went to school almost twenty years ago that’s a fail so don’t pay yourself on the back

in the situation of alley dock you can get alittle more room on the cones to just don't hit em you'll do fine
