Such a great game, so much politics in gaming industry, I feel if a game belong to certain club it won’t get the right review score or love it deserves. This is another story similar to daysgone where it was one of the best game ever played

this game is a masterpirce and underated game...game of the year 2022-2023

The game's visual is great, I like the details, the settings and the atmospheric realism. Combat mechanics is kinda mid but I appreciate their effort in trying to incorporate different elements into it such as the telekinesis gauntlet and stealth mechanic. Enemy's variety is quite lacking, aside from the arachnid-like crawlers and the boss creatures, most of the rest are barely distinguishable.
Lore is quite predictable and probably the weakest part of the game, the endings are alright and I admit the DLC twist is a bold move although, like other comments have pointed out, is not really appreciated because people have grown attached to Jacob throughout their experience and him meeting such a gruesome end kinda killed whatever positivity left people have for the story.
In overall 5/10 game

can't do final battle, health bar is too big and take too long to get it half way by then you're dead. all weapons are absolute useless and do nothing except the hammer but even that takes forever. how on earth this player has time to put health on is beyond me, if i try at anytime it's right there and gets me and its wasted. they need a quicker version just for those who want to get it over with. it gets very boring very quickly when you're stuck for days on end trying.

Despite its flaws and critics hating the game I thought it was ok and liked it. I hope they do make a sequel and fix allot of the flaws of the game because this game has so much potential.

I like the game and story enough, but this was not an ending that should have been DLC, at least the type of DLC you pay for.

Albeit, I did like a Jacon's Ladder reference, it really does not work with Jacon's character arc, in all honesty. He is not a bonafide criminal, and his guilt over causing his crewmate's death seems forced because it did not see like this mission was all that especially risky; I think anyone would have initially blamed Dani before settling for whoever wanted them to transport the cargo. Or at the very least, it was not really all that compelling to see the "do not give up" in the last portion here, which seem to ride on the context of Jacob's guilt, when that is already on such a flimsy foundation.

The "it was all a hallucination" is a really awful copout, if I am being honest, as everything we did before came across as pretty pointless.

Like, to clear it up, Dr. Mahler was using Jacob's Neuronal Link to Dani to send her confession, but this feels like an odd way to do it (Are you seriously suggesting to me that Jacob needs to be alive for this?), especially since Jacob's survival seems pretty independent of his own free will. I feel like if Dr. Mahler needed to extract something from Jacob's mind, that would have worked better than the apparent explanation and most importantly the end result of this plot twist.

I LOVE that they had josh as comic relief at the end

Seeing what the hammer can do, it's disappointing that they completely failed to understand the issues with the core game. What made Dead Space so scary, in almost all areas, which really made you dread having to slog through, was the fact that you were always vulnerable. You could be ambushed from anywhere, take enough damage that you weren't ready to, and then die because you were sloppy. I can press "d" and "a" whenever I think an enemy is near, and I always get the chance to "no sell" through it. Being able to dodge like that against mostly melee opponents kills the fear aspect.

Just an entirely bizarre series of gameplay choices.

I'm fine with this ending, Jacob wasn't an entirely interesting character. The writers really failed at making him an interesting and sympathetic character. Jesus, the bit at the end with the voice actor was the best part of all this bullshit.

I just completed the dlc, and I was blown away by the ending. I've always wondered why Jacob kept hallucinating and why Mahler was saying 'keep fighting'. Despite the reviews this game gets, I genuinely loved The Callisto Protocol and I hope that we get a sequel or at least another game from Striking Distance

Don't worry guys, Dani will be the main character in TCP 2 lol.

Upside: Finally, at least two ventilation shaft jumpscares that aren't just loading screen buffers

Downside: Same-old shit with the lockers & boxes punishing you for scavenging resources, and viper_nest_neck enemies

Guess we will play as Dani if there's a sequel.

Tbh Jacob was not in the wrong for being simply a delivery man. Really stupid reasoning trying to make him out to be. His services were hired to transport something and it wasn’t their right to just look in the package of their client. Really dumb angle on the story of condemning him.

They need to do that a DLC for the audiobook show they did pre game. Shit was good and it'd be cool to see a new environment and character

something tells me that this wasnt always the plan, i mean, jacob dying in the DLC etc. i think they decided to kill jacob because the game didnt sold well and was purely received, so they decided to end it this way.

Thank you for uploading this. I'm glad I didn't spend any more money on this game. I understand that some people may like it, but for me it just feels frustrating with all the bad writing/story telling, annoying jumpscares that you can see a mile away, poor combat mechanics and the illogical map designs (spike walls, moving fans in the vents etc.). There is just so many elements wrong with The Callisto Protocol and this DLC just proves it.

This is an underrated game its suspenceful, has a unique fighting system and the gore is top notch i would recommend getting the platnium in it its very easy
