Just a question, so the user defined functions survive a reload?

I want to use eem script to perform shut/no shut when interface goes to error disable. But do we have an option to read the log in event track only once.. For example, if we have another switch connected and port is going in error disable with bpdu, eem script will run in a loop and perform shut/no shut.. I want to perform it only once..

Note : I know about error disable recovery feature, but that is also not feasible in my environment due to some monitoring limitations.

Appreciate all your work.! am actually trying to figure out a script to test web url access from Cisco IOS/IOS-XE, basically something like curl and process the outcome to confirm if the url access was success or failure, is that something possible using these standard TCL/EEM/Linux scripting support? any guidance will be of great help. thanks much M

Would LOVE to see detailed examples, especially for Shell Scripts and Embedded event manager, and how we can send notification emails to the NOC for events such as interface going down. Does the Shell mode also support SED and AWK? Is the shell mode along with SED and AWK support also available in Packet Tracer and Boson Netsim? If yes, can you please share some examples?
