I am so impressed with these programs of a fascinating period of history. You have done an absolutely superlative job. They are informative, interesting, and very professionally done. High praise to you and everyone involved in the projects.

Hey baby. I know you're probably working hard at this hour, and I know you will not want to see this but I don’t care, I need to put it out there. I’ll scream my prayer in this storm of comments and hope some favourable wind carries the words to you: please. Please come back. It’s been seven months now and I have no one else to rely on. The kids miss you. I miss you, I really do, if you even care. I’ve tried to move on, I’ve tried to find other history channels, but in the back of my mind it’s your intro which takes ahold of my thoughts, your soothing voice, your voice actors, your scripts; in short: you.

Rewatching old videos doesn’t help anymore. It hurts, if anything. The memories of listening for the first time haunt me and comfort me at the same time. I remember the gasps escaping my lips when I heard the amazing voice actor in the Songhai episode, my eyes welling up with tears as I listened to the ending of the Rapa Nui, the giggles as you told Sumerian jokes. I still gasp and cry and giggle, but every sound I make is tinged with nostalgia. Your voice builds an intricate scenery made of paper, as ornate as it is delicate, and indeed, when I get closer to better explore it, to immerse myself as I did the first time I listened, everything falls apart around me, the illusion is broken just from my breathing.

I know what we could’ve been, what we could be, if you’d just came back to me. I don’t care about the topic. I don’t care about the time period. I’ll watch a video without those gorgeous landscape shots if that’s what it takes for you to come back home. Please.

Dinner’s getting cold, but it just doesn’t taste the same without you.

I finally finished this podcast, and I was brought to tears at the end and an overwhelming sadness because of so much history that was lost. Now we are witnessing the very same genocide committed on the Palestinians by the US and Israel.

If Tunisia would just would a replica Carthage port where the old one was as much like the original as possible; it would pay for itself in tourism and bring new life into the area. (Especially if the build a deep sea port nearby that is usable today)/

I have watched all of the programs in this series and felt great sorrow when the
end came for the civilizations involved, most did a few things wrong during their
time on earth but their destruction seemed to come about on the whole from other
peoples greed, but for the Phoenicians i have no sympathy whatsoever,i fail to
understand why it did not occur earlier, they started and ended as backstabbers and
brought the entire thing on themselves, despite their own riches and comfortable
lifestyle for year after year they still tried to steal or ruin other peoples trade,
they were lucky not to have been destroyed by Agathocles, their bizarre support of
the Mamertines is one of the most petty and antagonistic acts i have ever heard of.

This channel is simply excellent. Can you please pleasssseee do one on the Manchu? I think. They tick enough boxes to be covered in that they were a civilization in their own right and came to hijak Han civilisation and take control over the middle Kingdom (giving it its greatest territorial extent) and attempted to Manchu-ify it but ended up being sinicised themselves and then all but disappearing after feudal rule was overthrown in China (not withstanding that they remain China's largest non Han ethnic group (but the only one without an autonomous eponymous province or region and are now entirely indistinguishable from the Han with only a handful of native speakers of their language left, a language that was once used to conclude treaties with the British and Russian empires )

Hannibal went through the Italian pennisula attacking towns for a long time and where was the mighty Roman army? The mighty Roman empire that defeated Carthage in the first war let Hannibal roam around Italy. How did this not weaken Rome? Yet, Carthage looses and Rome wins this war? This part does not add up or make sense.

While I find the documentaries on this channel, including this one, to be amazing and entertaining, as a Tunisian, I would have appreciated a more diverse range of sources. It's notable that the documentary primarily references Roman or Greek historians, but it overlooks local or indigenous perspectives, especially in discussions about Hannibal.

Your channel is incredibly valuable, and its impact could be further enhanced by incorporating voices from local or indigenous scholars. This approach not only enriches the content but also acknowledges the importance of diverse viewpoints in historical narratives.

Additionally, being mindful of one's own stimulus value and privilege when narrating the histories of ancient civilizations is crucial. These narratives are often shaped by Western perspectives, which can overlook or misrepresent the complexities of these cultures.

Thank you for your work, and I look forward to watching more of your content!
