Living With 2022 Ford Maverick XLT Is No Big Deal (And That’s A Good Thing)

Now that the eco boost is $1500 less than the hybrid, I pre-ordered mine, just have to wait......

Competition is coming from Toyota, Subaru, Nissan, Chev, Ram?, etc. I’ll have to wait and see….good idea…but the prices keep going up.

They have a used 2022 xtl malverik hybrid in my town for$36900 with 3,652 miles and they also have two 2022 used lariat hybrids for $38900 and $40,900
Are these good deals or can i have them lower the price? In in clovis california.

Maverick good looking factory color matching caps are available & they outsize any trunk. I’m going with a hard rollup lockable tonneau. I got the base XL hybrid with moonroof, spray in bedliner & full size spare tire. Who else offers factory option moonroof in base model? Because there’s so many factory drilled DIY holes in the bed I’ve added inexpensive but strong adjustable tie down rails with stainless steel eye bolts & SS floor D-rings. No problem carrying 12ft lumber etc.. Maverick is amazingly thought out. Wouldn’t miss my F150 except for manual transmission.

Great video, I just got an XLT with the same color minus the luxury package. It has a sunroof though which I liked and got the ecoboost version. I dont want to worry about the cost of replacing a battery on a hybrid. I just got lucky someone traded it in but paid 31,900 out the door for it with TTL with 10k miles on it.

After all the bloated trucks, we've needing this size truck and price for a long time.

Great video. I've also heard many various rumors regarding getting a Maverick, claiming different reasons why Mavericks are as scarce as hen's teeth. But for FoMoCo to stop building them is a piss-poor management decision. And the supply-chain shortage is a problem created, lead, and sustained by Democrats. This problem and hundreds of others such as the crippling of our economy, deteriorating life-style, and national security threats, just to name a few, did NOT exist under Trump.
And regarding many greedy, morally-dishonest dealer mark-ups (price GOUGING), should be illegal.

The "Nobel" prize should be taken away from Ford when they recently decided to make it difficult or near impossible to purchase an XL or even an XLT Hybrid. They did a "bait and switch" on customers who ordered the 2022 XL Hybrid only to complain about their lack of "capacity" whatever that means. A pure copout. I am only interested in purchasing the XL Hybrid at the advertised price not the Eco Boost or another gas only vehicle. They forced XL Hybrid purchasers to upgrade to the XLT or Lariat Hybrids and then made them pay 2023 prices due to their so called "capacity" problems. Disingenious to say the least and it can be argued - dishonesty.

I will keep my trd 4x2 offroad Tacoma over that tonka toy that will never come close on resale value.

Great video again! I wish we had these small pickups (the Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz) available here in Europe... But sadly, I can't see that happening. =( We're so deeply taught to hate pickups, and car makers think Europe is one large, Coruscant-like big city covering the entire continent, with medieval street planning. So no one needs more than a compact station wagon maybe.

My son has just priced out a 2023 Lariat Maverick for $27,000 which is good value for the money. 🤠

The "big truck" naysayers forget that when Ford introduced the Model-T pickup, it was smaller than this Maverick, and it was considered a revolutionary vehicle, especially by tradesmen. This hits that sweet spot the Ranger occupied for years, until Ford stupidly turned the Ranger into a bloated mess. Now the Ranger is the size of an early F-150. I'm still concerned about long-term reliability, but I can see a Maverick in my future.

LOVE my 2015 Ford F150, Lariat, with less than 70,000 miles. Turbo boost gets me 18-19 MPG around town & up to 26-27 MPG on the Highway (not pulling anything of course). But it HAS THE POWER to pull VERY WELL.

Actually, the owners manual states that to get the rated hp and torque you need to use premium gas

I like the color, very nice looking. As you said in video on hybrid FWD is wheel slippage. I don't get what ford is thinking not to offer the hybrid with 4x4, The idea is to use less gas, drive on battery power as much as possible so why buy a new maverick with a all gas engine, it defeats the purpose of a hybrid. People living in area's who get snow, then the hybrid FWD not worth cheap price.

Can anyone help weigh in on a Maverick vs my current 2017 Escape? I really can't decide if I want to try and get one or not. I don't use any more space than the back seat for storage, the whole trunk area is wasted. I do enjoy my ground clearance and AWD for snow though, which the Mav would match. And the Mav gets better mpg. The only time I do use the trunk is if I camp in it overnight maybe 5 nights a year haha.

How is the Maverick alone in the market place? We have the Hyundai Santa Cruz.

The Hyundai just ain’t pretty or handsome, not saying I don’t like it, but the face of that thing I couldn’t look at everyday, I’d have to park it where I’d never look it in the face. covers help with thieves, but a good pistol works best!

It's not designed to be a replacement for a Civic or a Focus. It's actually a real world replacement for a CRV or RAV4 hybrid - specifically for those who have always thought about a truck, but were hesitant to spend $40K for something with terrible gas mileage, but now are ready for a Maverick for less money. especially since these buyers are now older and don't have things like kids or dogs to schlep around anymore. That's why it's outselling everything including the Santa Fe truck and can't be kept on lots. Boomers gone wild

Glad you like it, I couldn’t get comfortable in the seats and was not impressed with the component quality under the vehicle or the wind noise on the highway.

Do you have to pay extra for the hybrid model or that comes standard? Can you get awd with the hybrid model or fwd is the standard?

As a canadian I hate seeing these american video's saying its 20 grand and ends up being 40 grand Canadian.
