ОтветитьTo make delicious banh troi with palm sugar filling, follow these simple steps:
Ingredients:
For the dough:
1 cup glutinous rice flour
A pinch of salt
Water (enough to form a dough)
For the filling:
1/2 cup grated palm sugar (or jaggery)
1 tablespoon roasted sesame seeds (optional)
1/2 teaspoon coconut or pandan extract (optional, for flavor)
For the syrup:
2 cups water
1 tablespoon sugar
A few pandan leaves (for aroma)
Instructions:
Prepare the filling:
In a bowl, mix grated palm sugar with roasted sesame seeds (if using). You can add a little coconut or pandan extract to enhance the flavor.
Shape the mixture into small balls, about the size of a marble. Set them aside.
Make the dough:
In a separate bowl, mix the glutinous rice flour and a pinch of salt. Gradually add water to the flour while mixing until you form a smooth dough that is not too sticky. You may need to adjust the amount of water.
Form the dumplings:
Take a small piece of dough and flatten it in the palm of your hand.
Place one of the palm sugar balls in the center of the dough, then carefully fold the edges of the dough around the filling to seal it. Roll it gently to form a smooth ball. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.
Cook the dumplings:
Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the dumplings to the boiling water and cook until they float to the surface, which typically takes about 3-5 minutes.
Once they float, let them cook for another minute, then remove them from the water with a slotted spoon.
Make the syrup:
In a small pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil with pandan leaves and sugar. Let it simmer for 5-10 minutes until the syrup becomes slightly sweet and fragrant.
Serve:
Place the cooked banh troi in bowls, then pour the sweet syrup over the top. You can also sprinkle a bit more sesame seeds for extra flavor.
Enjoy your banh troi with its sweet, palm sugar filling!
The way she carefully picks the tomatoes shows her deep connection with nature. Love it!
