Last human on earth movies are common enough that there's a pattern. Someone ALWAYS finds out there are others, and the interesting thing is finding what they have in common. The Quiet Earth, a film from New Zealand, had one of the oddest "commonalities" Those who survived were people who had been at the instant of death. One a suicide, one a murder, one gal was electrocuted by an accident with her hair dryer.

Why is it that in almost every apocalypse movie, there is always a group of psychotic people doing messed up things like this?
It makes me that much more afraid that if there ever was an apocalypse, and if I ever come across a settlement or a creepy group that I should just GTFO!

Entertainment can be comforting. But everyone would be better off preparing a budget and researching money investment strategies rather than watching this type of C movie drivel.

I rather live in a city during it then be isolated.

Excellent movie. Very different from most post apocalyptic movies. I think I would do exactly as Del would rather than start again in a crazy society.

Now I want to have that movie.






Because Del and I have the same feeling but in different ways. This movie may help me to open up to people and not be afraid to make friends in the time of the end of the world.

I hate movies where people "sleep through" an apocalypse. The world goes to hell around them while they sleep unaffected.

'Silent Spring', Australian (New Zealand?) sci-fi movie:
Young man wakes up to find he may be the 'last man on Earth'.
But he soon finds other people, and that's when the mystery deepens.
Every person he finds should have died 'the day the world changed'.
Car-crash, over-dose, suicide, illness, botched surgery, old age, murder.
Due to an experiment that 'altered fundamental constants', reality was torn apart and every living human consciousness was pushed into its own 'private Universe'.
The young man was 'crossing over' from life to death as this was happening.
He and many others share a Universe where they didn't die!
They all got a second chance, while the rest of us are trapped in a Hell of total isolation.
I saw it years ago at a film-festival; independent 'speculative fiction'.

I laughed at how even the apocalypse wasn't enough to stop California from trying to social engineer some twisted vision of a "utopia". If anything, it expedited the process XD
