i know this video is old and this comment is late but my whole commander deck im making relies on galazeth being a commander, i only know the card exists cuz i pulled the showcase version and i love treasure tokens

My favourite obscure card is Bruna, Light of Alabaster. Only a commander in about 2000 decks on EDH, but I find it's very strong with the right enchantments and can easily become an insurmountable threat.

you could use magistrate in combination with the lighthouse or shadowspear effects to get around their shrouds or hexproofs

With insight, opponents might also not notice the threat, whereas some people get triggered when they see a Rhystic and want to remove it if possible.

My all-time favorite is Withering Boon - 1B, pay 3 life: Counter target creature spell. Nobody sees it coming!

Tranquil grove, it’s a great piece to include in any deck you can. Enchantment boardwipe on a stick. Idk if they talk about it here

Trace of Abundance on vault of catlacan....sure for all those 5 color decks out there but not a great example. Minds Aglow is terrible versus other x card draw options in blue

There are not many creature that apply a permanent effect like this on the game outside of monarch and initiative and I think it is a good counter piece for life gain strategies

Viridian revel in a Kibo deck would be fantastic

Maybe late to the conversation but, sacking a treasure token shouldn’t trigger Viridian Revel - since tokens are not part of your deck they do not go to the graveyard but, are simply removed? Right? It’s not triggered since the token never goes to the graveyard. Am I missing something?

If you're in simic, you don't even need an opponent to be in green for submerge, so long as you've got yavimaya. ;)

Endless Sands is a decent utility land you can use it to doge strategies that care about creatures entering the grave or strategies that use your creatures in grave for themselves then it can later be used to repopulate after a board wipe and at worse, you can sacrifice it to scavenger grounds allowing you to exile all graves twice.

I think that one of the most underrated spells in the format is Pyrokinesis, a great early game board neutralizer for free. Great at wiping out early commanders and mana dorks.

Submerge isn’t good. It only works against a specific color, and you have to assume one of your opponents has a forest. They have to be in green, and otherwise it’s not gonna work

Natures chosen is so good. at its worst it allows a creature to tap for 2 on your turn and 1 on everyone else's. at its best its the best card in your deck

My wallet is so happy that my Norin the wary deck has absolutely no use for Deflecting swat

One card I think people really sleep on, to build off the points you made on Submerge, is Unexpectedly Absent. So many people look to your standard removal spells in white but this card messes with your opponent's tempo and removes a thing and you don't even need to pay any mana for the X because it doesn't have the X can't be 0 clause in it. You can just pay WW and there goes your opponent's best thing

My favorite obscure card is victory chimes. If your deck has a non-tap activated ability for 1 colorless it does so much work. Goes from being 1 mana per turn to 4 mana per turn cycle.

I love bioshift! Other great things about it, it can also just be used offensively too, not just to save counters. If you have anything out that interacts with counters being placed, like a doubling season, or a hardening scales or whatever, bioshift can make one creature with 10 counters into 2 creatures with 10 counters, or one creature with twice the amount of counters. Can also be helpful is say you were "forced" to build up the wrong creature with counters, once you get the right creature, you can just bioshift them over, and at instant speed too! So can even be used as combat tricks
