Curious! I just needed this tutorial for competing a poster. I was trying a lot of ways to create noise, but seemingly anything worked, I was starting to think the only way was Photoshop, but I'm glad it wasn't.

seems more efficient and less destructive to import the svg into photoshop and use a traditional layer mask, but this is interesting too
