Usually I dislike new material in classics but in this case the song fits in perfectly and I think conveys Eric’s feelings better than Her Voice did. Both are equally great, for their own reasons!!

I've looked at most of the comments, and I disagree. This song is just..... eeeeehhh. It barley rhymes and goes together as is, and when it actually does it sounds awful. These lyrics are not great whatsoever, I want to like this song I really do, but this just didn't do it for me. The only good thing about this song is Jonah's singing and the Instrumental, that's the only talent I've managed to get from this song. Halle's singing doesn't make this too much better, but honestly she's talented. I rate this a 4/10, it's not good to me

I watched this movie expecting to be disappointed. I wasn't - because of Halle's and Jonah's portrayal of the characters and especially their chemistry together. Enjoyed all their scenes so much!

The live version was highly criticised before its released. From the selection of a dark coloured Ariel, hair color not matching with the original one, the funny looking flounder and for many more. Everything changed when after the release of the movie. Its not knly an adaptation, indeed its a spectacular masterpiece of a pure art of film making, a cinematic work of wonderful collaboration of real life characters and CGI. Most importantly the songs sticked to original and with added flavour of new techniques. Each character had contributed 100% of their efforts and prince Eric was a surprise package. The boy not only can act ,he is a great singer as well.
