I think you are mistaken. It's not ascendant only. You can get all sorts from it. Last loot I got from it was an apprentice club. Little bit clickbaity there =P

Really you should tell people that they need to be level 80 to open the treasure chests.

probably worth saying that is also where an ice wyvern spawns along with a nest.

This chest IS awesome. It does drop stuff other than ascendant, but its all good. There is another chest like this in the viking shipwreck at the bottom of viking bay just down the hill from this chest. Its covered in shrimp that wreck your torpor but if you're quick you can kite them away and then swim in and grab a second chest. Since these two are so close together, I figure there has to be more of them.

i had an ascendant crossbow blueprint and i managed to make an 302.5% damage crossbow
